    I'm not impressed either.
    No blu-ray? Mmmmm.

The design looks pretty much the same. I'm disappointed.

the reason that I think a lot of people (including me) are so excited, is related to this being the longest gap between MBP refreshes... ever.

I'm really not bothered what it does, I just want a new MBP and I've known full well for months now that a new one is likely /just/ round the corner. That's what all the sites have been saying. This means that I can finally buy without fearing of being outdated a week later.

    Roll on the announcement.

If it was anyone but Apple no one would give a damn. This is why people laugh at the fanboys ...it's just another laptop, geez.

The issues that Apple have faced in the recent past from 3rd party manufacturers (Psystar) should have Apple on the offense and thinking in terms of reducing the entry level price of their product. I was hoping that they would have a "Netbook" like entry into the OS X platform. I feel a bunch of the same old news does nothing for them as a company in the new market that they are being forced to compete in.

Haha, thanks for the perspective, Stan. Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in the hype!

iPhone 3G - just another phone. T-Mobile G1 - just another phone. Apple MacBook Pro - just another laptop. Asus EEE PC - just another netbook. Porsche 911 2006, 2007, 2008, etc. - just another Porsche. Ferrari 360 line - Just some more Ferraris. And on and on and on. (My point: it's all about perspective. If you like, you like. If you don't, you don't. One thing is for sure, Apple's design dept. puts the industry to shame.
