Ha, I love the pic you've attached with it. Very nice.

As someone who services corporate America, this question seem entirely too myopic. They need 2.0 specialist -- as most of the decision makers couldn't tell you the difference between MySpace and Facebook, let alone Twitter or Tumblr.

All they know is that it is important -- and they need to get better. It is a good time to be a 2.0 specialist -- if you want to sell out to the Man.

The real question is how many of those people who answered yes are full-time social media specialists themseleves.

Many businesses are still struggling to embrace social media and those who have don't know what the heck they're doing. There's a huge demand for social media specialists right now.

And that won't go away. Most workers should have the ability to manipulate Excel documents or set schedules, but they still need Administrative Assistants to do the work.

Why? TIME! And it takes time and effort to conduct a strategic social media campaign.

Perhaps in the future, social media will be more integrated as a skill set. But that's a big "perhaps" and it's still a ways off.

But just in case it happens, Steve Rubel wanted to be the first one to say it, me thinks.

As any job matures, there will be changes and more expectation added to the job requirement. It is an ongoing process. It happens to all the jobs. As in 90s, it was enough for IT consultant to know just programming. But as industry matured, Programmer these days are expected to understand business side also.

As business understand Social Media better, it will not be enough to say a few buzz words to get a job. We will be expected to show ROI to business to justify the job. It is not going away, just maturing.
