In August, I raised $4,000 - $2,500 0f that in 90 minutes for Cambodia orphans. I've been able in total to raise over $200,000 from social networking sites in the last two years. I've been using Twitter for fundraising now for a year - but the August campaign was the most dramatic success

This effort bodes well for CSR in general. I'm sure white label for corporations like http://zaengo.com that role up impact in the responsibility economy see these efforts as evidence of how sustainable business and sustainability efforts will change the world!

And don't be too modest mate, your network produced a huge amount of funds in a really short time period!

I think the important takeaway is that the charity:water September campaign doesn't end here, despite the amazing results we saw on September 18. Personally I've had an extra an extra $295 donated in the 24 hours since my blog post (largely through the generosity of video blogger Steve Garfield) taking my total to $937.

Great stuff, how much further could it go in the 2 weeks until October?

this is a great example of how social media can be used to scam gullible foreigners .. i live in india, i know exactly costs to dig, or drill, a well. you got robbed. not be a little. by a lot. wonder who is behind this project.

This is a good example of how social media can change the world. We can do it a little at a time at a personal level, and we can participate in events like Blog Action Day to fight poverty http://blogactionday.org/ or Pangea day http://www.pangeaday.org/ to help change people's perception of the world.
It takes so little for us to make a difference.
