Seriously, there is a reason sites like DMV . com California exist. Its because no matter what the real dmv tries to do they still end up being terrible. There are numerous dmv guide sites all of which offer a way better user experience than the gov't site - myspace profile or not. The reality is it doesn't matter how hard you try you can never turn the dmv from a frog to a prince. The best thing you can do is use 3rd party services and websites like www.dmv.com that can help you cut through the bs and bureaucracy.
