Mashable - The Social Media Guide: 2008/05/21/multiply-traffic-growth/

Congrats...if that's real. I'm calling bullshit unless Comscore or another 3rd party can back this up. They're touting *march* numbers at the *end* of May...did it take that long for them to shit a brick or what?

How about them apples, lol. If I hear the whole "but they're big outside the US..." again, let me remind everybody: 50% of the *world's* ad market is inside the United States.

One other, funny thing: see that "beastilitylove" subdomain on multiply? Is this another site saying "we're huge!" because they're big on pr0n?

20.5% of Multiply's traffic is from America. That means that 79.5% of traffic on Multiply is international. They ARE big outside the United States. The United States isn't even the largest demographic on Multiply: Indonesia is!

I imagine that "beastilitylove" is a subdomain on Multiply. The reason for that is every site there is "http://USERNAME.multiply.com" or "http://GROUPNAME.multiply.com" Every person registered and every group created is a subdomain. What kind of ill-informed argument are you trying to make?

I love Multiply and it is all they say. Where else do you get the President of the company joining groups to check on the people and what they want? Where else do you get someone who is real and actually listens? I came from another site, that is failing miserably in Customer Service as did many of my friends. We have found a home at Multiply. We were new, they embraced us. We came en masse and even tho Im sure all our questions and problems overwhelmed them, they handled it all with class. They listened when we cried about what we lost and what we wanted. And get this.........they even implemented some of the things we asked for. I feel safe inviting family and friends. Multiply is the standard that all others should follow. They have it right.

I love Multiply, it's the absolute best & now my #1 main social network that I use. =)

Multiply is great! I came from another site too and found Multiply staff immensly involved and helpful.
I was certanly not used to that!
What I like most is the privacy ... I control who sees my page.
I don't need a lot of extra's, I'm one of the "older" customers and this is exactly what I was looking for.
I hope they keep this excellence up ... they are one in a million!

Multiply is BRILLIANT.. they seem to be the only networking site on the planet that has figured out.. Baby Boomers BLOG!! And, guess who has all the money to buy from advertisers!! Yep! Baby Boomers!!

Multiply uses fonts that are easy to read.. and not that blurry junk that other sites tend to use. (also a reason folk aren't buying Vista.. lol) This site has so many young, talented professionals who keep one finger on the pulse of the social networking.. simply by being a blogger themselves!

To have grown by nearly FIVE million in a short time.. I can only imagine.. where they'll be this time next year! They've got my vote.. and more importantly.. they are the answer to baby boomers!

    MULTIPLY, ROCKS!!!

"...his site is capitalizing on the current perceived flaws of the market leaders..."

In addition to all of what he said, the number one reason that Multiply is my home is because of the Customer Service. I cannot recall one time that I have contacted Customer Service (CS) and have not had my problem resolved to my satisfaction, and promptly, too.

Second to that is the fact that the staff actually use their own product. I can go to the CEO (Peter Pezaris)'s page, leave him a comment, and I bet he'll reply or reciprocate.

Will Mark Zuckerberg (of Facebook) send you a personal message replying to a comment you made, like Peter did not three days ago?

Will Thomas Anderson (of MySpace) communicate with you any further than sending you a invite and a automatic message will you sign up?

Will Rupert Murdoch (owner of Newscorp, MySpace) come to your group like Peter did mine today and write a note?

That, readers, is why Multiply rocks my socks.

Multiply has a well integrated system that ties together all of your photos (unlimited uploads!), videos, blog posts and more into one easy to use, well designed social-verse.

i've been using multiply since september 2004 and though i've tried many, many other social networking sites, none, in my opinion, are as customizable (not just in terms of designing your site, but in terms of privacy settings as well) as multiply.

but what i truly love most about multiply is that it enables conversation in a way that no other site seems to be able to (unless people are tacking Intense Debate onto their blogs, perhaps). the inbox feed makes all the difference in the world and it is also highly customizable, so that you only see the updates that you want (unlike facebook where i can move those sliders up and down but i have yet to see any difference in the kind of crap making it's way into my feed).

At first when a friend ask me to join i was really confused about the "whole network" thing.
    you have seen the logo

but having been with them over a year
I love the Control YOU-have with privacy, connecting with other users-YOU control that it easy its awesome:)
my favorite feature is Live Replies, thats one of the more features multiply has to offer:)

in the end We all want different things,
Thats exactly why the 9mm+ MySpace/Facebook/Yahoo/Friendster/Whatever
we all come from somewhere:) stay
if your not already a member you should be:)

I've been using many social networking sites, and found only Multiply that made me feel like home. The Customer Service is so great and devoted to members, they really listened what we want and focusing on everything that made us easier to do things on our page.

For example, their reply message sistem is already fast, but they are still trying to make it faster, simpler, and cooler. And also their photo viewing sistem! They always try their best to simplify all the process and make us easier to post or view anything we want.

    Love Multiply a lot!!

PS: Yes, Multiply is so big in Indonesia and it already has its own community : Indonesian Multiply Community that has launched its own book (all the profit goes for social charity) and established yearly social charity events. Where would you find this kind of community except in Multiply? ;)

Other social networks will go down. Multiply, keep MULTIPLYING!
  • barefootmeg · 1 year ago
lol! although i don't think i would have said it the way kevin did, i entirely agree with his sentiment. i really believe that when the social networking bubble bursts, multiply will be one of the few sites left standing amid the rubble.
