And I hope everyone else in Tech does too. If all these startups are redundant it's up to us to come up with something better. The fact that they are all redundant means that it is extremely hard to come up with new monetizable ideas, which ultimately forces us all to push the envelope. It's capitalism and creativity at its best.

I will add one thing. My company chooses to feed the beast as a development company (highly secure thing to do), and play in the game (more risky). So in a way, I've hedged my bets. Either way I win. From the standpoint of running my own startup, the current web 2.0 bubble sucks, because it makes it harder to compete. From the standpoint of my development company, it's awesome--the jobs just don't stop coming.

All in all, there shouldn't be any reason for smart people in tech to complain. I'm happy people are doing all these clone startups--because it's the best of both worlds: less competition, and more development jobs!

Anybody else with me on this one?

James
from
FaceySpacey.com, Your One Stop Social Media Shop

Re: Web 2.0: How Hard Could It Be?

Awesome, thanks Pete.

Re: Web 2.0: How Hard Could It Be?

Yes, Pete.
