They also seem to have the best traction out there according to Alexa and other web traffic monitoring sites.

Interesting! I know SpotScout, and there is more to their service than described here.
In addition to garages/lots, their inventory includes private spots and on-street spots -- people can sell the departure information of when and where they are leaving from.
And in addition to looking them up on the Web or mobile phone, you can compare your choices and reserve a space.
It's largely geared toward short-term.
