Actually, you should tag this one "drupal" too, since that's what OnSugar is built on - http://whatis.onsugar.com/ But as a Drupal guy for lots of years, I'm a bit biased. ;)

What is their commenting system like? Do comments also appear in the timeline? Or do only the authors of posts receive notifications of comments on posts?
What are the privacy settings like? Can you set the privacy on a per post basis?

if i'm not mistaken i don't think multiply allows you to mash up social media services. with onsugar you can add twitter and flickr to the sidebar of your blog with a click of your mouse.
I strongly feel that there is NO comparison between multiply & onsugar. imo, onsugar is just beginning their journey and already ahead of what multiply has done.
onsugar's commenting system allows you to comment & subscribe to the comments on a particular post, I'm sure we'll be able to leave audio and video replies soon (personally, i wouldn't use it b/c i feel it's quicker to just type up something).
As far as what onsugar's privacy options are, I haven't seen any privacy settings yet. You can make your updates unpublished but I do know for a fact that they have some really exciting features up their sleeves. so i'm sure we'll be seeing that soon!

Saha, you mention Twitter and Flickr in the sidebar. I know a number of Multiply users who have those in their right rails with no problem. Yes, it isn't with one click, but then, I'm one of those who likes to control how things are put on my page, so I never go the 'one click' route anyway.
I stay far away from Flickr anyway. It belongs to Yahoo ('nuff said) and Multiply has such a great photo storage facility, why use a 3rd party site?

look this is silly. i'm 30 years old, maybe not your age but i'm a 'grown up' as well. i don't appriciate feeling personally attacked because I happen to like a certain site. this post was not intended to threaten anyone nor were any of my comments. i'm not going to go back & forth on what site is better and compare their features because it's pointless, you obviously have your biases and quite frankly, all of this is really not that serious. i can't believe people get so worked up over websites when there are bigger things OFFLINE that really matter and need the discussion.

I think that the main difference here is that Multiply functions more as a socnet and content aggregation service, and OnSugar is meant to be more of a content origination service.
Multiply also has a much more techy/savvy look and feel. I don't see them as competing, they're attacking two separate markets.
In other words, the girly appearance is on purpose.

By the way, I took a look at your thread over at MUD... it isn't quite fair to say that OnSugar copied a bunch of other socnets, as was mentioned several times.
As is mentioned earlier in the comments here, it was built on the Drupal codebase. When you look at what Drupal is, and what it looks like out of the box, you can definitely have a great appreciation for what they've done with it and what they're trying to accomplish.

The pink is an instant turnoff to me. It appears to be a girlie site. I rank it with MySpace's glitter... yes, I know it is just a perception, but I want my site to look good in every way.
I see a reference to 'followers'. Does that mean it is like Blogger where you don't add a contact, but have to follow people? I don't enjoy that at all. It makes for clumsy networking, but again, it is just my opinion.

Silly Multiply developers. Obviously offended them, WTG Saha (applause). It's one thing to defend their product, it's another to be such children about it and if you're not developers, I think it's safe to say you're a bunch of losers. OnSugar looks like a fun site, at the least, it has some personality unlike Multiply and they have a lot of potential being that they do already have a fan base from their other sites. And Saha is right, for the amount of time Multiply has been around they should have more, especially when there are sites like Vox around. There is no competition.
I've taken a look at your personal blogs on Multiply and you women obviously don't understand the concept of web design and it justifies the reason you all feel the desire to defend something so minor, you would think Saha slept with your significant other at the rate you were attacking her. Creating a blog about this? You've got to be kidding me! If you know a certain site is awesome, it doesn't matter what one person has to say about it.

I applaud Saha, Mark, and Sophie in regards to Barefootmeg and Linda.
Both of these Bitches need to get a life and not only look stupid here but also on Multiply. That thread in MUDS was only posted to stir the shit and these Bitches who don't even work for Multiply are just as useless there are they are here.
The only back down once confronted and try to act smart but in reality sit on their fat asses with the same stupid ass head shots repeating the same garbage as they sit only Multiply 24/7.
It is amazing to me how these few comments from these Bitches brings out their true colors and these following quotes made me laugh as many have been saying the same thing about these fake bitches for a long time...
