Its working just for USA. Can we expect Europe anytime in future?
  • Adi · 1 year ago
I dont think Europe will be there very soon :(

From their FAQ: "Sending a rmbrME: No charge for the first 2 weeks. After that, you will be charged $0.49 each time you send an invitation (plus standard SMS charges)"
HELLO!!?? That's pretty UNsocial to me. GOODBYE.

haven't tried the service yet, @Jim, but the fee will keep the spammers out of the service for sure. That's what freakin sucks about Twitter! Frankly, they could charge $10/message if it meant that I didn't get any viagra ads.

I signed up and I think it's cool. But I don't think I'll use it once they start charging me. I think it'll be clear of spam because the only way I can be spammed is if the spammers know my mobile number - not so easy to come by.

    Jim H,

Have to say I did not see that particularity when putting together the review. Thanks for pointing it out.

    broozier,

Interesting you say that. Given how rmbrME can ideally be quite useful in a sort of chaotic social networking environment, in which users seek more and more efficient ways in which to make connections, perhaps the $0.49 charge per sent message (after the two-week free trial) will not be a major hurdle. I suppose it all depends on who takes to using the system (professional vs private users, for example).

We always get the cool things later in Europe...this one sounds kind of fun! and quite useful!! especially if you meet someone at the disco ;)

I'm going to a green business networking event tonight in LA (http://room367.eventbrite.com). I'll see how many people I can meet and who will rmbrME. Then I'll blog all about it.

Not sure how the fee will work out (although at .10 or less a pop I'd totally go for it).

This really is the start of where we need to be. I've always thought that random meetings should never be hindered by a lack of follow up (esp professionally) and many times business cards just don't do it.

Paul (et al): Thanks for the writeup and interesting commentary! This is Gabe, CEO of rmbrME - and I'm glad to see that people think the product is interesting.

If you're social enough that the per-connection charge is a material issue, I wanted to make you aware of a way to offset that. We're running a friendly challenge on Facebook to win a supercool camera. All you have to do is come up with the cleverest status update in support of rmbrME, and it's yours (more or less). Check it out: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=17166394282

Also, we're going to constantly evaluate feedback from our customers WRT the service, and we hope that you'll give it a try and let us know what you think!
