now how do I use this as a doorstop? all of the promise of the Yellow Pages but none of its usefulness

I think it is going to be a challenge to create new silo-ed sites where consumers can come and write reviews. It is not impossible, but might not be scalable. However, all review content is good content and usually helpful, than harmful in anyway. So good luck to InsiderPages with the new money :)

hey i'm up for making an open version of this. i'll host it, and put up some $. but how can one make it unique, and extensible.
i've got tons of ideas how to monetize it, but is it really effective without a data- base for users to start from?

They're missing a ton of business listings in my area too; with no way to even "suggest" a listing to them. It's like looking through the Yellow pages at a pay booth and discovering the page you needed has been torn out.
