If it is Twitter vs. FriendFeed and Twitter manages to survive, I'm going with Twitter. I'm pretty sure Twitter has 10x more users. But then, to a large extent, I'm going where the users I want to listen to and talk to are hanging out. I hope that Twitter gets its act together quickly before people move on to something else unless that something else is better than Twitter.

I get more of a real time feel with Twitter. I hate the elevation of content (like a mini-digg) on friendfeed. I don't want to keep seeing the same content come up every time someone *votes* for it. There has to be a better way. And there's definitely gaming going on. Right, you are supposed to support your friends. Thus the *best* does not necessarily rise to the top.

Admittedly, I haven't gotten completely on board with FriendFeed yet. I rarely visit the site. Mainly I use the Facebook app to pull all my various blogs, status updates etc into my profile. But after hearing all the buzz on Twitter lately about people starting to migrate to FriendFeed, I'm trying to use both, so that if and when one of them proves to be the clearer choice I'll be equally comfortable with either one.

Secretly, however, I have a special place in my heart for Twitter and hope they get their kinks worked out. And soon.

Maybe one day Twitter will be able to set things right again, but I'm afraid by that point, a lot of people will have filed for divorce as well.

I have just come to the point where using it just isn't any fun anymore but feels more like a chore - you just never know if Twitter will make itself available. I guess that makes it an irreconcilable difference :)

As often as I read "Twitter is Down" articles maybe you should just add a Twitter status box to your site header.

eh, down with Twitter. Jaiku is superior. Threaded conversations, Feed importing, and channels.
