I'm not so sure delaying the AGM was such a good idea on yahoo's part. I mean, it just gives Icahn and his supporters more time to buy up more Yahoo stock, and also to gather around more shareholders. Guess Jerry Yang just doesn't have the nerve to risk it right now...

Maybe having a odd number of board members will make it easier for them to make a decision!

falling this way, Microsoft will buy Yahoo for $45 ... (not billions)

Yahoo's juvenile approach to dealing with Microsoft ("...they're Darth Vader and the Evil Empire") has left them directionless. They have been followers for years, and now it's doubly obvious. First Terry Semel thought it was a content company, which it wasn't. Now they want to be a Search company, which they aren't either. Instead of creating a brilliant business around MY Yahoo as a competent aggregation site, they want to be "that too" every time they read about a new cool business model on Mashable... which are usually not workable, but they impress the 20-something year-old code monkeys.

Good riddance, they will turn out to be the PointCast of this generation.

I happen to know that someone new will be joining that same board, so Edward will quickly be replaced. But way to run with the idea and make a headline out of it. Boohiss.

Well of course they're going to fill an empty board seat... let's see whom they add, that will tell us a lot about they're perception of the future.
