I started using friendfeed yesterday...where has it been for my year!! I should have started using that much sooner, seeing as I use twitter alot, so glad I started using it now.
Friendfeed has saved alot time for me already.
It was fairly easy to get to grips with the basics fast, but this post helps alot on how I can now make the most if it. How I can best fit in etc, what I can contribute, as it's a great way of sharing. Nice one. :)
I like the community feel of it too.
One I will keep using, its good with some good people to connect with, for laughs, tips, alsorts.
I got here to this post from there. :D
Though I have read this blog plenty of times.

I use FriendFeed, but not a single one of my friends is on it -- so I've always thought its uses were limited for me. But your suggestions on rooms really helps.
As for my favorite feature of FriendFeed, it's actually to search my own tweets. Yesterday I had to find two links that I had tweeted several months ago, and it took two seconds thanks to FriendFeed.
Hello to Wendy, from a new fan
About: HOW TO: Get the Most Out of "FriendFeed".
December 5, 2008 - 4:14 pm PDT - by Wendy Boswell.
Recently I heard a podcast at: http://www.internetmarketingthisweek.com/
It was: November 22, 2008 - This Week #5
Feeding Your Paranoia - Internet Marketing This Week #5
The gang chats the power of social media to both build and tear-down companies as
they examine Lynn's "Inside The Stompernet War Room" Blog post. Also mentioned
briefly - the changes over at Zune.net. Our Picks This Week Michelle -

(Nowhere in the description is there any hint that there is valuable resource-information about "FriendFeed" in this podcast).
In the podcast, I think that Ed Dale mentioned a way to use Friend Feed.
However, I am an elderly gentleman, with VERY poor hearing, who is also a "newbie" and just learning about Social Medial and the Internet.
I did not understand what Mr. Ed Dale said about "FriendFeed". (stupid, old man that I am)
In a comment post, Ed Dale encouraged me to stick it out.
I am trying to get better clarification of what his instructions were.

It's a "how-to" I wrote last week for being a little more proactive on reducing the FriendFeed to Twitter noise.
http://enrique-gutierrez.com/2008/11/friendfeed...
Though filtering what you see is a good way to remove the stuff you're not interested from your feed from your subscribers, sometimes the courtesy of cutting down your own noise is a better start.
I especially like the friend organzation and friend filtering parts of your article. As with Twitter, Digg, Propeller, and all the others there's only so much time in the day and a smaller portion of that available for social sites.
Which means you have to choose wisely who to follow and pay attention to because there's no way to actively follow 1,000 or even 100 people daily.

Thanks for posting Wendy.
power of friendfeed. It is a bit confusing and daunting, but your article is a
great help. Thank you so much for sharing this quality information.
John
The rooms features is no longer a part of Friendfeed. Apologies if this is a repeat.
All the best
