Eversince I have started using chrome, I fell in love with it instantly. There are 2 things I hope they would add >> Colors or themes and Page Rank checker. Can't wait to see if they will release Google Extensions

Yeah, Chrome's really well-thought-out, and it really works. I thought I'd check it out and it earned it's place as My Favourite Browser very quickly. I found your review because I'd torn off a tab and thought "Hmmm, there ought to be a way to un-tear it." There is! Well done Google. Some of it might not be 100% original, but the mix of features is, and they turned out to be the ones I'd mix myself if I had the smarts.

Sometimes when I leave chrome on in the background theres a strange, very infrequent, short scraping sound. Took me ages to track down where this damn noise comes from but it goes away when chrome is closed.

(i am using chrome to make this post) i think it's awesome that mac users don't have the privilege to use chrome! my main problem is that hotmail doesn't work in chrome. the classic version works, but it doesn't have rich text...

it's funny, the more i use Chrome, the more unstable it seems to get... crashes a lot more, can't handle sites with flash, hangs every time i close a tab... all that to say, i'm switching back to Firefox

Chrome is superb.
Some things i noticed were that firstly, its address bar also works as a search bar and on right clicking it, it also allows to select a particular search engin

Actually, chrome is quite standards compliant. And has many more built-in features than FF.

I think Chrome is very good browser. Neat, lean and fast. I still think Google will face an uphill battle to get the average net surfer to switch browsers. I am not talking about tech heads who try anything new, I am talking about the non techie users who are your critial mass. If you look at the new Google service insight which gives you a graph of search term usage over time, you will see the keyword "Chrome browser", popularity is now dwindling. It is the same for Firefox 3 which peaked when they were trying to break the record for most downloads. I thik it is just too hard to get people (specially non - technical users) to download a new piece of software, and then install it. The non-techies just don't want to mess around with their computers if everthing is working fine. Firefox has been there for a long time, and it is a pretty awesome browser, plus all the add-ins that you can choose from, but still nowhere near Microsoft's IE, which is a crap browser.

But it is just as hard to get people to switch online services as well. They are used to a site and people just stick with it. I mean there are thousands of Social Networking sites out there, and new ones being released everyday, but people still flock to Facebook. People who started using Hotmail, Yahoomail etc still use the same mail program. Although I must admit I have seen a good uptake of Gmail.

I am no Micrososft fan, but I remember Bill Gates says the best day for any new Google product is the day it is released. I know from personal experience it is very hard to get people to change their habit. As human beings we just don't like change. Its programmed into us.

Yes Google Chrome is a great webbrowser. The omnibox is a smart toolbar and it's so fast. There are already themes out for the browser so you can have it in your favorite color.

Im on a laptop, and when i use the side of my touchpad (as a mouse wheel), i can use it to go scoll down the page, yet up don't work. What the F==k is that about ? Only works for down??? stupid.

It feels to bare too, gonna keep using it for a while to try and see if i can get used to it. But i miss to many things from the other browsers. LoL. never thought i'd say that :P

Mostly good article, but I disagree with 2 things, the speed of the browser is good but the speed of switching tabs is shocking compared to any other browser. Also the switching is more difficult than you make out without the key feature of a home button which many users base lots of browsing around.
