Iâ€™d like to attend the DEMO 09 emerging technology conference because the "other" event that takes place at the same time(which i won't name) is a big joke. In addition,
as the co-founder of a Houston-based Internet startup, I would really
appreciate the exposure. Left-coast entrepreneurs have a clear advantage operating their business and raising capital in an environment that understands and appreciates the tremendous opportunity the Internet marketplace has to offer. Events like Demo are designed for companies like ours to get noticed by the Internet power-players that seem to primarily reside in Cali, Boston and NYC.

Iâ€™d like to attend the DEMO 09 emerging technology conference because:
* my husband hasn't gotten paid in over a year and I cannot affort it otherwise
* I need to attend in hopes of drumming up some new business so I can support my husband and three kids
* I can't afford a real tropical vacation, although need it badly, and this may be as close as I can get for a while.

I'd like to go to Demo '09 to see if it's really worth 9 grand. Is it a complete waste of time, moderately useful, or genuinely valuable. I suspect that the conference won't
make my product or business better and ultimately, that's the most important thing
right?

I would like to attend DEMO 09, because I have new ideas in interaction and the web 2.0 apps. This would help and guide me to launch my own company and bring some new goodies to the society.

I don't know anything about new launches and companies, but I want to do it. This platform would be the best platform for me to learn and get the experience that others have gained over a period of time with hard work and proper planning. I am an international student at Rochester Institue of Technology, NY; paying my own fee and doing my best to acquire knowledge in the field of HCI as an MSIT student.

want meet the industry leaders in emerging technologies and Web 2.0 companies.
I am especially interested in the mobile advertising market and its migration

If I'd known about it in the past I would have been there with bells on :)

I'm 24, took a leap of faith right out of college and started my own company, which was bought by another. Moved up (from DC to Boston) to the other and lived out of a UHaul van for a week till I found a place to live. I had a gym pass before I had an apmt

My New Years' resolution for this year was to discover a new technology/product/website/service every day for the entire year. So far I've been going strong. Also I don't have the money to go without sponsorship, being in a startup and all :)

DEMO conference, I think I love you.
And should I not win, I shall love you from afar.

As a radio station trying hard to get to an audience besides the internet, and hoping for
satellite or better, a conference on emerging technology could be crucial for both us and someone else: we can provide the content for someone else's distribution method. The internet is too limited, we need to stretch farther.

I'd like to attend DEMO 09 emerging technology conference because I truly believe that it is technology that will pull us out of the recession that we are all facing. I am seeing negative energy everywhere I turn - be it Wall Street, Government, Corporate sector, etc. This is not to say that Technology is immune. However, it is in the emerging technology conference that we can look for the beacon that will lead us out of this darkness. I want to be able to say, "I was there".

Iâ€™d like to attend the DEMO 09 emerging technology conference because it is just not about looking for a job, or to watch and learn about the companies presenting or to share ideas as others have mentioned (since this can be done from home with a web browser, YouTube and an hour of time) ; the real reason I want to attend is to get recharged from the energy, the inspirational stories, and from seeing possible VC deals in the making, and find that yes, this truly is a great time to start a high risk/growth company.

Iâ€™d like to attend the DEMO 09 emerging technology conference because emerging technologies are the focus of my company and I'm the only IT employee designated to focus on this. We've gone through three rounds of layoffs in the last 12 months. If I don't attend this conference I face a layoff. If I'm laid off, I can't afford to feed my adorable, precious, loving Bernese Mountain Dog, without whom my life has no purpose. Please save my puppy!
