... I am broke having put all my money in my startup :-)
If you don't give me those passes, you will be responsible for destroying my soul.
Also, if I don't get those passes i'll be stuck going to techcrunch 50, which kinda sucks.
I'm really really tired of reading Kawasaki's books on the subject-and I really really need some inspiration :-
1.) Salvation Army Santa Clauses are FRAUDS
2.) Sled riding off the roof causes SNOW EYE
3.) Pyramid Marketing Schemes are exactly that - SCHEMES
4.) GMC is NOT giving cars away - even though my daddy told me so
AND after having learned all of this, well let's just say I need a pick me up!
1) It's in California
2) Love of technology
3) Networking
I'm a NETWORKING WHORE!
Now that networking may take place as we close down the bar while sipping Long Islands, but hey... that's where the real deals are made anyhow (or overheard when a excited genius spill his guts and ideas over 2 Coronas).
Anyhow, Demo 09 is just about 2 hours from my pad. I was planning on going anyway. However, if Mashable were to grant me a pass I'd take a camera along and do some "reporting" while in attendance.
Maybe a couple video podcasts, article write-ups, and of course plugging Mashable for pimping me out with a ticket.
But most of all, I just love being around smart people who are innovative and have desire to build tools that bring all of us humans closer together. I have no doubt that it will be the internet and tech related things that bridge together many of the differences we have across the globe. I believe things such as peace are much more possible because of rapid advancements in communication in the tech world.
So in closing, I wanna hook up with these people. Rub shoulders with them. Share ideas. Develop friends and colleagues. Then, share these experiences with others.
That's about it.
Peace
J-Mo
I am willing to sacrifice the first few Halo release days for a Demo experience if you pick me. Just do me a favor if you do. Ignore me if I start rolling on the ground or foaming at the mouth. I'll be going through withdrawals.
Think about it like the oddsmakers in vegas attending spring training in the NFL!
We are doing whatever it takes to succeed in this economy as we live our dream of creating a company that has the potential of becoming profitable within our first year. My wife and I just had a baby girl (so our life has been all about new things), and my 11 y/o son asks me every week how many users we have, are we at revenue yet.... and are we going to be bought by Google soon? :)
Back in 1.0, I was the CEO of a startup that saw $5 Million and 75 employees go away into the black hole of 2000-01. By getting our company exposed to the latest and greatest of what is going on in today's marketplace will give us complete perspective and continued drive to succeed. Demo '09 will provide that ramp up to get us there!
I would like to attend DEMO because two years ago, when I was working for a tiny, underfunded start-up, most of the company went down to present and I had to stay up in San Mateo slogging away at *actual* work when they were down there whooping it up and rubbing shoulders with the brilliant minds driving the most ground-breaking technology.
But I'm smart! And fun! And now I work for a behemoth corporation that has no reasonable chances of going to DEMO! And now I live in LA and have friends who live in the Palm Desert, so it would be soooooooooo fun and perfect and wonderful!
In fact, here's what I'll offer as a light bribe: I'm a social networking/marketing geek. If you send me there, I'll write candid yet amusing remarks about every shred of social networking technology that I find amazing, dynamic, cool, and groundbreaking. It'll be hard to do, yes, but you'll deserve it.
So, to summarize, you'd be granting a wish to a social networking geek AND you'd be getting some content for your blog. What more could you possibly ask?
Photos? Oh yes, I love taking photos.
Enthusiastically yours,
Danielle
I am the product and design director for a six-person start-up called UpDown.com and I'd love to see how other start-ups tell their story, because this is really one of the most important skills in building a business.
PS And the amazing SoCal weather in March is a big help. Whoever planned the location deserves a gold star.
I love Mashable.com and I'm following you on Twitter!
Best!
Besides the obvious networking opportunities with other entrepreneurs, innovators, and top industry icons, it would be great to see some of the newest trends and ideas that will fuel the future growth of the internet/technology world...I have joined forces with a new sms marketing provider and want to test some of our social integration ideas with the wolves...
Not to mention that it would get me out of the winter doldrums of my home office and get to meet some of the Mashable crew. Besides that, I can breakdance like its 1989, fritter with the best of geeks, and will tweet-book-blog-tube-ping-press-spurl-lens-txt on behalf of your fine company....If that isn't good enough then you should pick me because I always wished I had a run-of-the-mill, but evocative, superhero-in-disguise name, like Alex Powers, Troy Stevens, Nicholas Sharpe, or PETE CASHMORE...
please...pick ----> me <-------
I’d like to attend the DEMO 09 emerging technology conference because I really need to get out more and, at this rate, I will never succeed with my plans for world domination.
I think mostly it would just be fun to meet interesting people and see interesting projects.

Also, I just saw my first boxybabee video and I need to know there is more to the Intertubes than that. :)
2.I have never been in the United States
3.Im a every day mashable follower
4.I find Demo useful because the smart people coming there are making me a much more innovative thinker.
5.i come from a country where these new ideas could make a huge difference.
... I would be able to highlight to some of the other attendees (entrepeneurs and investors) what is happening in terms of internet startups business models innovation and growth in singapore/asia pacific where i've been living and working since 2004 after 7 years living and working in san francisco/bay area...
many possible synergies and idea sharing in my opinion, especially in the current economic and financial climate where going international for customers and revenues is more than ever needed...
And, since having motivations beyond networking seems to be a rare trait, I'll voice my concern for such excess. Balance in contribution is key, so I'd like to go to be able to add to the dialogue.
Sincerely,
Phillip
During DEMO 09 I would block about the newest ideas and innovations and also make good use of my Twitter account to give micro-updates whenever possible. I feel that this could be a good way to blog about what the future could be and to bring the event to people who might not be able to afford to go.
I have been unemployed for the last 18 months due to the mortgage crisis and have decided that I no longer want to work in a industry where I gave 15 years of my life. It is no longer fun or profitable.
In September 2008, i decided that I wanted to work for myself and created a new startup. It will be several months before the launch but i wanted to go to DEMO 09 to meet and network with other like minded entrepreneurs who have put their "hearts and souls" into their projects. I believe that i can enhance my company's position by learning from these individuals as well as new products that can help save me money.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity for the DEMO 09 passes.

Hi Mashable,
I would like to point out that there is no question for me to answer.
So now I am stuck in a dilemma. What is one to do when he doesn't know the question that he has to answer? I feel confused and I'm not sure how I can possibly win this competition.
I mean, I'd like to attend the DEMO 09 emerging technology conference because it would be a great opportunity to network and build my presence in the social media scene, but given the circumstances, I just don't know if I can!
Please help!

As a radio station trying hard to get to an audience besides the internet, and hoping for
satellite or better, a conference on emerging technology could be crucial for both us and someone else: we can provide the content for someone else's distribution method. The internet is too limited, we need to stretch farther.
If I'd known about it in the past I would have been there with bells on :)
I'm 24, took a leap of faith right out of college and started my own company, which was bought by another. Moved up (from DC to Boston) to the other and lived out of a UHaul van for a week till I found a place to live. I had a gym pass before I had an apmt
My New Years' resolution for this year was to discover a new technology/product/website/service every day for the entire year. So far I've been going strong. Also I don't have the money to go without sponsorship, being in a startup and all :)
DEMO conference, I think I love you.
And should I not win, I shall love you from afar.
All the best!
-Jon
in addition to being unemployed and in need of a great networking opportunity to put food on the table, I also enjoy having my finger on the pulse of new technologies.
I also love hobnobbing and socializing!
victim of the reductions and layoffs in print media (newspapers, magazines), I
want meet the industry leaders in emerging technologies and Web 2.0 companies.
I am especially interested in the mobile advertising market and its migration
to smartphone platforms including the iPhone and Android.
I don't know anything about new launches and companies, but I want to do it. This platform would be the best platform for me to learn and get the experience that others have gained over a period of time with hard work and proper planning. I am an international student at Rochester Institue of Technology, NY; paying my own fee and doing my best to acquire knowledge in the field of HCI as an MSIT student.
"I know nothing, this pass to DEMO'09 would educate and motivate me."
Thank you in advance.
make my product or business better and ultimately, that's the most important thing
right?
Oooh wee... Looks like a lot of fun to be part of the elite! Like you ;)
I need some good old human contact.
* my husband hasn't gotten paid in over a year and I cannot affort it otherwise
* I need to attend in hopes of drumming up some new business so I can support my husband and three kids
* I can't afford a real tropical vacation, although need it badly, and this may be as close as I can get for a while.
as the co-founder of a Houston-based Internet startup, I would really
appreciate the exposure. Left-coast entrepreneurs have a clear advantage operating their business and raising capital in an environment that understands and appreciates the tremendous opportunity the Internet marketplace has to offer. Events like Demo are designed for companies like ours to get noticed by the Internet power-players that seem to primarily reside in Cali, Boston and NYC.
Things have changed in the modern world
It makes it kinda crazy for a boy and girl
All a lot of noise on the radio
It really don't rock
It really don't roll
[Chorus]
Big cigars and diamond rings
Mobile apps and Facebook things
Social Media and cloud commuting
Virtual games and wireless flirting.
When you finally hit the top
Man you know what that means
Everybody's ready for the next big thing
For a little while
you can do no wrong
live it up son
cause it don't last long
There's always somebody
Waitin' in the wings
Thinking they're going to be the next big thing
Maybe I'm gonna be the next big thing
[Chorus]
Everybody's ready for the next big thing
