Uhmm, why is Mashable plugging this? Is Pownce paying you?
This blog loses credibility when it promotes things like this, without disclosure. This isn't news, this is just peddling invites.

Why wouldn't they? The last article had 9243 comments. That's a ton of page views for Mashable. Page views = ad views = $$$. It's a win-win situation for both sites.
Besides, everyone I know that's used Pownce is really enjoying it. I know I am. :D

Ha. 9000 pageviews on a blog that gets 1M+ pages/week - hardly worth it. ;)
In fact, all the commenting slows the blog down (database load) and prevents some pages loading. We do it because we can.

My thoughts as well. Why am I suspicious of this obvious promo by Mashable, which in all other respects I find invaluable?
