    This reminds me of CEA's campaign against anti-consumer technologies in consumer electronics from 2006. http://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2006/04/who-are-yo... Consumers will not buy products that restrict them this much. Plus, Defective By Design is quick to point out products that do. RIAA is the enemy of consumers. Cary's messages is being ignored by any CE manufacture who actually wants to sell something Any any that do cut a deal with them in some way are substituting longer term gains for short term gains, not to mention brand loyalty. RIAA, die already. You are no longer welcome or needed.

    Unless I'm mistaken, Sherman made his remarks at the State of the Net conference sponsored by the Congressional Internet Caucus, not the Association Technology Conference & Expo. was in the third row right in front of the stage for this panel discussion. His comments were pretty out there but they weren't quite as bad as they're being made out to be if you listen to the entire panel and hear them in context.
