I am a commenter who has called for the Republican Debate for YouTube. I went to many websites to tell people to get the word out, with a twist. I call for any minor Republican candidate or minor Republican supporter to forward the idea to potential nominees to take this chance to go in a major candidate's stead and take the chance to answer the YouTube questions like a real candidate. This could be there huge break, and I hope that somebody realizes this and takes it!

What's the big deal? Where did YouTube all of a sudden get this special status in American democracy? What if MySpace organized something? Or Revver? Or Yahoo? Just because the Dems did it doesn't mean the Republicans have to do it as well.

Is this about Google's blessing? Google as do-no-evil company and keeper of the world's information is now the final arbiter for the election process? Shouldn't Apple - that touchstone of Truth and Cool and Design - have a say in this as well then?

Maybe the Republicans could organize an iPhone debate so they can point and laugh when those uncool Dems don't follow suit.

    Geez.

What the hell is your problem, Peter? Did you even read your comment. This was agreed on by CNN and YouTube well in advance. The candidates know about the debates and the choose not to answer the people's questions. What does that say about them. At least McCain, T. Thompson and Paul will be there.

Has George W.'s claim that he doesn't read newspapers now infected the whole of the right wing blogosphere?

CNN announced the Republican YouTube debate already scheduled for September when the Dem one was annoucned. This has always been the plan people. Just breath and read.

KEEP THE DEBATE. On the original date. The front runners were too good for it, or scared of it - let them miss out on it.

Let the other candidates have the platform so maybe Americans can hear something different!

Dont cave in to those big shots! Debate as is. No changes.
