Their users are different than Google users, so a phased rollout and tweaking to perfect it before rolling to the masses is a reasonable strategy. Plenty of Google's wide open beta products simply fail and never get mainstream traction (like Notebook!)

Re: Yahoo SearchPad: A Better Approach to Web Research?

Website: Yahoo SearchPad : Yahoo’s New Research Notebook

Reading this article on Yahoo's new SearchPad and the research they are doing on notebook was great.I find it important when i am trying to search and read articles is, that they are not only having right information but informative so i can learn how something is to work. Using other sites to do my notebook was not always that informative for me. I would suggest to anyone who wants to know more about this new Research Yahoo is doing on Search Pad Notebook i would recommend it highly.

I really could tell the site had really done there homework on this new SearchPad Notebook that yahoo has been doing is great.I really enjoy where it gets into competition and how it wants to launch at the right time making sure it does not fail in anyway at all. I really respect that from a site who can say that and stand behind what they say. Not allot of sites do that these days so that is why i really found this to help me understand what they are trying to do and will do with notebook with there new SearchPad.

The search also had allot of other information on this SearchPad and other types of things they want to do. I did not only have one but felt i had more options and suggestions given to me on how this will work for yahoo and the people who will use this SearchPad like myself and others.Try it out , read this article and see if it does not help you with how this new SearchPad will work.

WordPress is great to have for this as it can really help you down the road on the new SearchPad as well.Don't just take my word on this read this article yourselves.

Re: Yahoo SearchPad: A Better Approach to Web Research?

I had use Google Notebook extensively and I think from a research perspective, the attribution thing is a great new feature. If Google had had better integration with Google Scholar, it would have been a seamless experience with Googe Notebook too (notwithstanding the other back-end subscription issues and so on).

I hope to try Yahoo SearchPad too but too bad, it comes too late for my PhD, which is now over!
