Mashable - The Social Media Guide: 2007/11/05/add-to-any-widget/

Isn't this the same as the "AddThis" tool?

AddThis is a clone, and Add to Any is still better. No registration/login, more services, links directly to services, supports tabs, is searchable, doesn't depend on javascript, and the new menu is customizable via CSS.

    Agreed with Jason.

Socialmarker is a lot more powerful tool to post to various social sites - maybe more suited to bloggers and web publishers. In addition, it handles tags better (entered once, they are 'primed' for each posting)

Socialmarker isn't as useful, nor as powerful. It just does bookmarking and uses javascript/frames (supporting less users), whereas Add to Any lets visitors subscribe to feeds (in addition to bookmarking) and doesn't depend on javascript/frames.

The tags option is mostly a joke because most services do not support external tags.

this widget is more like a blogging tool. Now if they gave you the ability to share what you have 'added' and maybe where you have added it..in a widget on your side bar. Then it would be more of a widget.
Kinda like a mini personalized 'stumble' display.

Sounds productive -- I like the inclusion of both feed readers and bookmarking tools within the same widget.

It's a good idea but they have some tough competition in this space... There's a number of widgets out there that already do this, plus allot more.

    My favorite is www.MadKast.com

In addition to submitting to all your favorite social bookmarking sites, they let you share articles with your friends via email, SMS, or Instant Message and it remembers your contact list across sites. Oh yeah, and they share their profits with everyone who puts the MadKast widget on their blog or site...
