I totally see the similarities! Six-pointed snowflakes (oh wait... aren't all snowflakes six-pointed?), blue theme (oh wait, isn't the generic winter color theme blues and whites?).
Too bad Evite can't focus on improving the service (which really needs it) rather than a playground brawl on the Intarweb.

I'm beginning to not believe that saying anymore, "The older you get, the wiser you become". Well at least in the corporate world you probably don't, I guess there you just get frustrated and sue people over snowflakes!?!?

I think Jonathan is kidding himself if he thinks Evite/IAC is out to get him or is afraid of his 3 person startup. It's not that they shouldn't be afraid. It's that in a company that big it is doubtful the left arm knows what the right is doing. I'm pretty sure the legal team is on a default 'hunt n destroy' mission and I doubt Barry Diller himself has anything at all to do with the letter sent to evite.
Great PR move on Jonathan's part to try to villify the big bad CEO vs the little guy, but really..who cares? Go back to coding and make a better and different service from Evite, instead of complaining that the big corporate dudes are trying to screw the little startup dudes. That's neither exciting, nor news, for that matter...
If you're looking to promote events (like you would inside Facebook or via Twitter), you should check out http://www.playster.org. You can add events directly into the search index and traffic gets sent to your site or blog.
