I am embedding a youtube video on my website homepage. Is there a way of taking off the inframe title that appears on the video as it does not look consistent with the font on the rest fof the site. Probably a no but wanted to ask anyway Thanks Vicki

I like the direction it shows youtube heading in. Use their platform and add more functionality to it for users off site.

Your idea about allowing ratings and comments off site would be great. The way to get around 'losing' page views on youtube is to have the ads embedded in the video where youtube shares revenue with site publishers...similar to adsense.

The trouble with captions is they contrast or even conflict with the more creative caption you may have written for the header of your blog post. It's like a newpaper where every story has 2 different captions and 2 caption writers with different ideas...less impact, bad idea...

Thanks for the tip, Geoff. I noticed the titles and ratings the other day. I post music videos on my site, so the ratings can be quite helpful. However, as most people here have pointed out, they are ugly.

The other issue I have is that my embedded videos are scaled down to around 300px X 300px. At this size, the text and rating stars are MASSIVE. Thanks to Geoff;s tip, I think I'll remove them for now.

Count me among the naysayers. It completely ruins the aestetic of my webpage. Geoff, I tried inserting the "&showinfo=0" into my code, but it didn't work. Can someone show me an example of exactly where to place it? But even if this works, do I have to then go back through ALL of the videos I have already embedded and change the code to get rid of the titles? I noticed that now you can customize your YouTube embed code by adding a border, changing the size or color and even NOT including related videos, so why can't they let you choose to delete the title also? IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!

Embedded ads are a HUGE issue on You Tube. It may be ugly, but it's a step in the right direction.

ooooh, I don't like it! Who needs that anyway? There is no apparent benefit, as far as I am concerned. I don't care about the rating, and when inserting videos into my blogposts, I add the title most of the time anyway.

The bigger issue though is the unpredictability of the embeds. You never know what your site will look like because they change the layout AFTER you embed it on your site.

Just a quick note: If you want to disable this new feature you can append "&showinfo=0" to the player url in the embed code.

Totally uncalled for and is nothing but a way to get users to view the video in you tube and not in the place where the embedded video is.

I kept viewing videos [embedded on the site] and felt like clicking the title so many times that i did finally wind up doing so and landed on you tube...

Would have been better if it was placed elsewhere....
