your next expose should be who owns the social networking sites, who invests in them, and who gets access to the data when the lights go out...

Aren't reasons like this why OHS is confiscating tech objects at the border, coming and going?
  • Steven Hodson · 1 year ago

Maybe we should have a one day internet-wide holiday. You know, just to find out what it feels like, so we'll be prepared for down time.

I think there are more important things to be concerned about than our "online lives"

Steven, thank you for bringing the situation to the Mashable audience. It is an important issue that we see internet as a new theater of war these days but I personally don't think it is really all that important: all our online lives are worth way much less than a real life of one child actually killed in the conflict. Don't you think so?

Shut up.Jesus..sounds like more more the fear button pushing to me.Get everybody scared ooooo cyberwars, the taliban, duct tape. You want something to be REALLY scared about?Go to cnbc and do a little research and see how deep our economic troubles are right now.People are worried about losing their homes and the price of food doubling or the price of gas going back up.REAL problems. The bush administration has done more "damage" than any group of hackers ever could ha ha.Yeah he really SHUT DOWN THE COUNTRY.Besides critical networks aren't directly accessable from the internet anyways.Ever hear of a hacker hacking into the CIA,NSA,DEPT OF ENERGY,OR high level accounts in the pentagon?No..exactly.Not worried about web site defacing besides cyber warfare IS the future. We do it ourselves. What do you think the NSA and NRO do all day?Pick their ass? ha ha ..comon people.Ever hear of the agency called DARPA? Oh they have plenty of cyberwarfare juiciness coming out.We do the same shit.So stop with the i'm scared routine.Adapt and overcome. Now if you don't mind..i'm gonna pay the REAL terrorists over at the gas station.

I read a book about this scenario happening. It was called "The Last Computer" by Tony Paulin. I think you can get a copy by emailing info@paulin.com.

Very crazy that he came out with this book years ago...
