"GoBits Reader" sucks! It doesn't even have an interface for viewing all the articles in the subscribed feeds like you have "All Items" in "Google Reader".

shame on reddit for their passwords fumble BUT they are not a clone of digg.

that sounds like they stole the idea. having the same concept doesn't mean they are a clone. Is honda a clone of ford?

Lets not be too quick to jump on Facebook. We don't know what revenue they get from ads. If their revenue is strong why sell? An M&A is not the only exit strategy. Also, I doubt Zukerberg is doing all the talking. Facebook has a very significant investor team that no doubt controls the way the company is headed.

Im no legal expert, but don't companies have to take some sort of security measures regarding personal data? I thought I read a while back that companies could be held responsible if their stored data is not encrypted...It could just have to do with *personal personal data though (ie, credit cards, ssn, etc).

Facebook not for sale!!! hahah - that coming from Peter Thiel, Facebook board member, and also let's not forget - Clarium Capital Hedge Fund Manager - who no doubt has a sizeable amount of money - and exit strategy buried in there somewhere ;) Bet he can't wait to get that cash out and invest in the next paypal/whatever.... Yup, the Reddit users are very angry about the fact that the passwords were stored in plain text. The reason given was that it made it possible to send password reminders. But as commenters pointed out over on Reddit, you can just reset someone's password and email them a new one if they forget.

It takes one line of code to encrypt passwords. I can't believe a major site would actually store passwords in plain text. They had this coming!

Facebook's Zukerberg is being too stubborn. I don't care how profitable they are, they simply cannot justify passing over a billion dollar deal!

Wow... way to store passwords on your site as plain-text instead of using simple/custom encryption! Web 2.0 sites need to start taking advantage of Security 2.0 features! :)
