Let's see... Google owns DoubleClick. DoubleClick puts tracking cookies in browsers. Google makes "free" browser. Blogs profit from Google / DoubleClick. Blogs are glowingly publishing/polishing Google's Chrome.

What? Me Worry?? ... about consumer privacy and the 'New (commercial) Media??

Google is now a billion-dollar company and their little advertisements are just the beginning. The shareholders will see a cash-return in the not so near future, not some google-labs-experiments from happy little computer-kids in mountain view.

Google is not evil? Remember Orwell? 1984 is coming later, but its coming.

What the hell is wrong with everyone on the net? Google Chrome is an open sourced project for Gods sake! If you think they are stealing your info, look into the code your selves or let the geeks do their jobs!

I dont get why everyone including the BSI has to spread incorrect information. "Google does no evil" remember?

The incognito mode takes care of that issue. I installed it the day it came out and its great, better than IE8 but not as good as Firefox, not yet atleast.

There's an "incognito" mode in Chrome. What's the big deal? If incognito does not work or is not working the way Google says it should then Chrome is a problem. I like how it handles all the Google apps much better than IE.

I trust all companies will put their own well being ahead of mine no matter who is running the company.

That way I can proceed accordingly knowing to look out for my own interests and not that of some internet company that cares only for itself.

Show a little intelligence and start looking up McCain's statements in context. Now that your agenda has been balanced out, lets quit lying and taking each others political guy out of context. Hmm?

Google: Due to advancements in ad-blockers and anti-spyware, companies like Google are in trouble as too much of their operating cash comes from this insidious type of revenue stream. Google also pays Firefox to have its search box in the FF browser. Get rid of FF and you have more operating cash! Regardless of all the facts this is a power grab by Google and will only screw Firefox in the long run.

Haha, yeah, I'm such a McCainiac. As for the Maverick point, there was a recent Fresh Air episode, broadcast the day of the GOP nominee's speech that touches on that pretty well.

As for the slant or tone of the article, I would say it's somewhat centrist. Neither for nor against Google's grand design. Recognizing that Google does what it does, and that it is bound to get slapped for it. Over and over again.

Yeah, Google does it all the time, and the world hasn't come to an end, so its fine with the author. We should all just ignore the warnings and put down those that warn us with cutesey "clever" articles. I guess we should all hope to become that hip someday.
