We are a new broadband VoIP service committed to sustainability. Not only are we "green" (our equipment is 100% fueled by solar and wind energy), but we donate 10% of our very affordable rates (starting at $14/mo) to a charity of our subscribers choosing.

Re: VOIP TOOLBOX: 30+ VoIP Services

you can make free voip calls to any us and canada number

Re: VOIP TOOLBOX: 30+ VoIP Services

thanks for good voip list. Every service has it's downtime, and mistakes can't always be avoided.

How can I use Gismo if nobody of my friends uses it?

Re: VOIP TOOLBOX: 30+ VoIP Services

I'm surprised you've not mentioned a free & open source alternative: Ekiga
http://www.ekiga.org

Re: VOIP TOOLBOX: 30+ VoIP Services

Daksh, TalkPlus (www.talkplus.com) should be added to the list as well. In additon to web calling they allow for inexpensive mobile calls where the set-up uses the data channel, but your call is still in the voice channel which makes the quality GREAT! I use it to call my friends and family in Australia, Canada, England and France. I have added additional international numbers my mobile so that my friends and family can make a local call without having to have a computer or calling card to save and call me back. It's just local call cost for them to reach me in the US. The UI is beautiful and easy to use, and various call functions can be modified relative to call profile and incoming number. I am using the Blackberry application and there's a Treo/Palm beta as well.

Re: VOIP TOOLBOX: 30+ VoIP Services

Try Nadiz.com started in 2005,

Nadiz telephony service allow you to make FREE from per minute charge calls to 50+ destinations in the world. But for some reason you are missing my favorite VoIP-service: sipgate. It is available in Great Britain, Austria and Germany and it really kicks butt.

http://www.sipgate.co.uk
http://www.sipgate.de
http://www.sipgate.at

sipgate startet in 2004 and has several hundred thousand members, so it has been around for a while. features include free phone number, free incoming calls, free voicemail, free fax. it's pretty cool.

Re: VOIP TOOLBOX: 30+ VoIP Services

Thanks for the mention Daksh! Highly appreciated.

It's getting kind of crowded here :-)

Try out http://www.jajah.com - it's really simple and you can try it out right away without registration.

Jajah is free and low-cost global calling with your regular phone. There is no headset, no download, no software and no broadband connection needed. You are using your existing phone (landline or mobile) and so is the person you are calling. You can call your friends for free, no matter if they are online or not.

You simply type in your number and the number you want to call at http://www.jajah.com and Jajah will connect your call between two regular phones (landline or mobile) anywhere in the world.

You can use Jajah from your mobile phone/iPhone via http://mobile.jajah.com or via one of our mobile plugins from http://www.jajah.com/info/t...

You can make conference calls (no password, no dial-in) and schedule your call to any time and date, so you can't miss your calls anymore, your phone will ring, you pick up and you will be connected to the designated number.

Cheers, Frederik

Re: VOIP TOOLBOX: 30+ VoIP Services

If you're in Ontario, I suggest using Unitz Online (www.unitz.ca).

Other than a few minor hiccups, I can't tell the difference between it and my old Bell/Rogers phone line, and the price is pretty cheap, especially compared to Vonage. $50 setup fee, no monthly rental fee for the router, $20/mo for unlimited 'local' calling (local being most of Ontario), and all of the features you would find with a regular phone service (they even email you when you receive a message on your phone).

Re: VOIP TOOLBOX: 30+ VoIP Services

woah!! thats a huge list... man where do u get all this from... great job... :)

Re: VOIP TOOLBOX: 30+ VoIP Services

How could you forget PrivatePhone?
