I sent her a link to the story and she thought it was cool that her face has been seen on a site that generates millions of hits a month.

And, no. I'm not nearly "pretty" as she is.

Re: Qapacity: A More Social Home for Your Small Business

Minutecoach has been listed a while, and the interface does provide a clean experience.

There are things that need attention - not being able to use multiple RSS feeds for content filling for instance, and, like so many other start-ups now mashing Google maps, it is not wholly accurate for international locations so you need to jiggle. In part down to Google, but reliance on the US maps.google.com as a starting point is not overly cool. I'll be suggesting they just offer the option to 'roll your own' URL for mapping, but if they allowed choice in the starting point (maps.google.co.uk for instance), addresses would be interpreted correctly.

That said, for visually interesting businesses (or creative owners) options open up with a clean portfolio approach, simple blog, etc. If they can generate Google juice it can develop into a compact marketing and reputation tool.

Wavering? it's worth signing up and taking an active part, and having a look at another user-rated directory for comparison, closest of which is http://www.brownbook.net.

I regularly see results out of Brownbook ( http://www.brownbook.net/bu... ) and see no reason for Qapacity not to be equally useful as part of your armoury, especially if you are looking for local search as part of the mix. Assuming they get the Google visibility right, of course...

Philip Stanley
Minutecoach

Re: Qapacity: A More Social Home for Your Small Business

Kevin,

The fact is, that image very likely IS your sister. I ask all my clients to sign model releases so I can use their images on my website and other marketing materials. This girl is in her junior year of college, I haven't spoken with her since the spring of her senior year, but I have several clients who I am still in contact with who know her and have told me what college she is attending and that she is doing well. She is a beautiful girl, and that is one of my favorite portraits. Please tell her I said hello and your mom too, and give them my warm regards.

This just proves the power of sites like Qpacity. Isn't it remarkable that my photography site has an audience so wide, that it reached, through happenstance, the brother of a former client?

So, Kevin...I knew this client had brothers, we spoke of it. The question is, are you as "pretty" as your sister? (hehe)

Re: Qapacity: A More Social Home for Your Small Business

I really like the app so far from my initial testing.
