One suggestion - (I know it may be too late in the game, but if you can get the board of directors together quickly enough, you may be able to pull it off.)

The name is too web 1.0. It really should be Email Harvestr.

Think I can get a job as your marketing manager?

That time of the year again, eh? :D

I wonder if you followed the business advice offered in this article: http://www.sitepoint.com/article/application-fl...

D'oh! How could I make such a rookie mistake? What's more, I left out the dots - it should of course be emailha.rve.str.

I'll organize an urgent meeting of our 280 employees and inform them of the last minute change.
  • Josh · 3 years ago
Dude? A meeting? A MEETING?! Meetings are NOT web 2.0. Haven't you read Getting Real? Meetings are toxic.
  • Pete Cashmore · 3 years ago
    Josh,

You're right, we'll have to call it an unconference, and invite hoards of A-list bloggers. Thank goodness you were here to help me!
  • Josh · 3 years ago
I have Mike and Om on Skype right now, they'll agree to your unconference, but only if they can chat via Gabbly during your presentation. Also, they're demanding that your presentation slides be made available via RSS.

    Josh,

No way. I've seen what can happen in those backchannels and it ain't pretty. Anyway, Mike is a 3Bubbles man. I'm starting an unconference wiki as we speak and I'll aggregate the contributor blogs in OPML format.

i wont lie, though i went till end but i was pretty clear in my mind that this is a good joke, cos price associated was too high and the buyers name was not given. which sort of created the doubt.
but still you win cos i went till last.

haha. Good one, Pete. Please make sure Email Harvester collects emails for several months before it launches its beta for customers to do the bug testing :)

[...]It seems as if Web 2.0 was the butt of a lot April fools jokes this weekend. Here are a few that I came across.[...]

This has to be the funniest April Fools prank that I've run into yet this year.

    Genius.
