I think it an excellent strategic move on Mixx's part. Mixx has rapidily gained marketshare in the social news niche. I see more great things coming from Mixx in the days ahead.

Mixx is nice and good looking. The only problem is the traffic is still poor. Even a homepage submission rarely gets more than a few dozen votes http://www.mixx.com/users/google

Well at least mixx since it is smaller won't get targeted by spam for a while yet.

I still strongly prefer reddit to digg. Mixx does look very nice.
