OMG! I can't believe they picked that name! Geeze, could you be any more blatant about what the "real" purpose of the site is?? I mean, that's about as bad as McDonald's "I'd hit it" ads. Were the marketers just not thinking or are they truly unaware of the slang meaning there? I am truly in awe.
I'm 100% sure they knew about the slang usage, and were attempting to be edgy.

With respect to the branding aspects around the name and its shock value, I’d like to call up the branding phenomenon around the restaurant chain “Hooters.†Who would have thought that you could create a successful restaurant chain based on families eating buffalo wings at a restaurant that connotes female mammary glands? I went into a Hooters restaurant last weekend and I saw kids and grandparents eating hot wings served by busty waitresses in too small tops and shorts.

I'm not really assuming anything... I was asking whether it was an intentional slang usage on their part or not. And I agree, tastelessness and "degree of shock" are all relative. Still, whether they got the name from a drink (which was probably also named after my original interpretation) or not, it's a gamble whether people will be turned off by the name or find it amusing. Personally, I find it distasteful and will never be a part of it. That's fine. I'm happily married, no longer in my twenties and not seeking the kinds of relationships they're promoting, and so obviously not in their target market.
On a side note, I don't eat at Hooter's either (though I have ample opportunity where I live). Though the main reason is that the food doesn't appeal to me, I'll admit that the name and the image also have a negative influence on me. Again, I'm not the target audience, so I'm sure they don't miss my business!

I think Lost Cherry intention was not to duplicate Myspace, but to make it more edgy and adult oriented and target a specific audience.
Most adults are looking for social network were they don't have to deal with young teens talking about what they're going to wear for the Prom or who they have a crush on in High school. Surfing around Lost Cherry it reminds me of Myspace audiences who have grown up and are looking to move forward to another edgier social community where they can find new online friends or keep the same friends to which they can relate, feel more comfortable with and that’s Lost Cherry main intention.
I think Lost Cherry would rather target loyal fans that come to their site on a daily basis then teens who only register and doesn't visit often. Lost Cherry isn't for everyone, some may find it as you said "tasteless", others enjoy chatting with new interesting people.

i have to agree with carry Lost Cherry is more for the mature minded teens that wanna have an actual chat insted of just having 50 y/o guys perving them ill admite im a member of both Lost Cherry and Myspace ive logged into myspace maybe twice where as Lost Cherry im a very loyal user and im on there almost every day mainly because the people arnt as fake as these plastik barbies and pedos you see on myspace everything just seems so fake ok im not saying lost cherry dosent have that but if theres a user we believe is fake there account is deleted as soon as its prooven they are pretending to be someone there not as for the layout it is so much easier to use than myspace but as 1 other user said each to there own fair enuf im just giving my own opinuin...

The layout to me is so much nicer then Myspace. I mean I remember looking over my friends shoulder while she was on her myspace account and couldn't make sense of any of it. Was just Plain, ugly, and to bunched up. Lost Cherry Changed that by making the page spaced out, and gave the friends, etc areas much easier to read spots.
It also has the ability to change the background to white by adding different skins, or creating your own. So I don't know what people even see when they say it ugly when the obviously havn't even seen the different ways it can be designed based on how you want to see it.
And I mean to me the name is so much more interesting then Myspace. I mean come on give the site a name instead of just going "we going to make a site so people can make there own spaces on the internet, wait thats it "MYSPACE". How more plain can you get. First the background now the name.
Come on people grow up, anyone ever hear of other people having different tastes, I mean I think if you were to make your own website on one of these places it should be as original as you are. So instead of making it so the layout and background is the same, like myspace, it should be like lostcherry where you can make your own layout or pick your own background by suppling a photo of your family, kids or designing your own photo and making it a background. So much more original then Myspace.
And I mean I would pick cherry blasts things over pop ups anyday. I mean come on having annoying pop ups show up and get in your way everytime you open a page, compared to a cherry blast just being up in the corner not interupting anyone unless you look up at it, and I personally wouldn't mind seeing some person saying hi to their friends or saying I love you to their husbands or wifes over a pop up anyday.
As for the amount of members, I mean Myspace had to have started small too, and the amount of members switching from Myspace to Lostcherry everyday is amazing. I mean I have seen the population go up by thousands every week. Now is that alot, yes, to me it is, to the interenet no, but it sure is a heck of a start.

Well actually Lost Cherry is an amazing site. I was a little over whelmed at first it almost seems too busy but it ROCKS its so your I have created my own little world and the friends are kicking and people you dont know SO AWESOME. Theres a point system so if you friend isnt there you invited them and earn points so WHO cares if Myspace has bigger user list right now... Lost cherry will be kicking its butt sooner then later. I think it's awesome that the worst things I've heard about the site is it's colors and name. Seriously, I'm flattered!
I'd buy some of you a pint, but you probably wouldn't want to be caught dead in the places I like to frequent.. and that's cool.
If any of you guys (or gals, come on giggi, live a little! do you not help people who're ugly too? :)).. actually put up with the color/interface long enough to try it out, and find other things you don't like, please send me the complaints/feedback. :-D

I've been a MySpace user for about a year and half now and have been a Lost Cherry user for about 2 months. In those 2 months on LC, I have had more page views than over 12 months on MySpace. What this translates to, for me..is more interaction with other members. Interaction and sense of community is what sets LC above the other social networking sites that I have used. MySpace works well for keeping in touch with friends, but so does my phone and email. The LC is growing in leaps and bounds, yes..it's edgier than MySpace and not everyone gets that but I would encourage people to come check it out. And like Mike said, if the most people can find to complain about are the colors (which can be changed) and the name...LC must be doing something right ;)

I love all my friends on there and contrary to myspace - its easy to stay in touch with them.. in many different ways - the page is mostly customizable.. dont like the lookofit.. change it. cool setup. cool sounds. cool people. everything is better there. now i just use myspace as a form of email...... its a dinosaur that has lost its place in a new world.
Im an LC addict... the people there rock - we have fun, we laugh - we flirt... it is alot like a 24hr night club as mike mentions on the homepage... its a more free and open atmosphere... if you would prefer something more controlled and dull and boring.... well theres always myspace...and by the way.. we have 71,000 members as of today the article says 49,000 - i know its easy to get that number wrong though because it grows at an ever increasing rate. Maybe you guys dont know it yet.. but LC is the new myspace.. its the chat forum of the future...

You don't even know what the hell you're talking about! this is not a sex site just because you see the word LostCherry! It is a place for people over 18 to meet and talk and send comments and become friends and family without the little silly kiddie crap and slowass speed of myspace. I have been on myspace and made 3 friends, I have made more friends than that in 2 hours on lostcherry. Some of the best people I have met have husbands,wives kids, grandkids and pets. We just don't put up dirty pics we share lives and feelings and problems together. We rate and comment without the silly little comments and goofy Jr. High garbage of MYSPACE.I now have friends from reading,pa to portland oregon and 3 foreign countries. Not one of these people has been mean norderogatory to me since I first joined so If you don't know it, don't slam it. I've had a Myspace account for a little under a year and have nothing but problems. The pages take forever to load, the ads are bigger than most pics people have posted, unless you're one of the lucky ones with the ad blocking code; however using this code puts your account in jeopardy of being deleted(now I understand this is Tom's way of lining his pockets, but why should the users have to suffer because of it?). Not only that, but half the things dont even work; The music/video search is useless, the friend finder is a joke it never works, and trying to post anything to your blog is murder. Another main point that got me to switch to LostCherry is the interaction that is maintained between LC creator Mike Hedlund and every other member. He's always there to promptly answer questions and concerns that one may have. How many can actually say they've had questions or concerns addressed by Tom? Mine never were. On the topic of predators on LC, everyone works together to rid the site of the scum to make it safe for younger members. In short, LostCherry is a better community/family than Myspace could ever hope to be. Kudos to you Mike on the excellent community you have created!

Do Myspace users feel so strongly about myspace? nah.. they just use it... like email. i dont love my email... i use it.
but i Love Lost Cherry - thats the big difference folks.
We at lost cherry are passionate about the place... we're passionate about the community and all our lc friends... do people on myspace feel like it is truly 'their space' nah... they feel alone among the gazillion other users... But i actually think that when lost cherry gets big... and it will - it will still maintain that personal feeling - it has to do with the setup... the feel. come to lost cherry.. but just know... that once you get there.... youll never leave =).

I'm a user on both of these sites and i can tell you....Lostcherry is wayyyyyyyyy better! They have features that myspace SHOULD but DOESN'T have. Myspace is ok to cut your teeth on but if you want a more mature site on which to meet people, Lostcherry is it! Note that I said more mature....not pornographic. The name may turn some people off but it's like i always tell people, "you can find bad in everything if you look hard enough". Some people are looking hard and making judgements without even visiting the site. For the ones who do visit the site and complain about the pics that are posted there.....they're no worse than the ones on Myspace! I've been married twice and I've seen more on Myspace than I've seen in my own bedroom! Myspace is great for what it is. The problem is that it's geared more towards kids...not adults. I think Lostcherry is really on to something and they're gonna be around for a while!

Ive been using lostcherry for like. I like it more then myspace in alot of aspects, The shoutbox isn't as annoying as those adds on myspace, You can actually interact with BabyJ. Users there seem to be more friendly. its faster, also the shoutbox actually works, and you can instant msg users, myspace the IM does that even work, Cause I never got it to work.

LC is far better than myspace, much more interactive and friendly. From the minute you sign up, you receive welcome comments. And as other LC users have pointed out, LC is edgier and has a more "grown up" user base. Give it a spin long enough to figure out the interface. I'm still pretty new to LC but I've noticed that it's a lot more friendly there than myspace. Though Myspace is good for networking and information between whatevers
I have both. and there is way more user interaction with LC than myspace. Cherry rank unlocks more picture and music storage, which can be cool cuz I like music videos.
I won't say one is better than the other..... it just depends on who you ask, and what the end user is looking for.

Lost Cherry is alright. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's better than myspace. I've met alot of great friends on there and the people there are just as nice. You'll have fake people on any site. The people at LC are welcoming at first but after that they don't even speak. The chat rooms are nice and it's a nice place to go. I don't go to chat rooms period anyway soooo.

Personally, I have a myspace account, and a LostCherry account. I like LC a LOT more because it has real time applications on the site itself as opposed to myspaces' "instant messaging" which relies on a connection from both users. LC is loads faster, easier to navigate through and tons more entertaining. That's not to say that myspace doesnt have it's uses. There is a WORLD of independant music on myspace and I like to communicate with the artists there.

Hate to disappoint the MySpace users, but I deleted my profile on MySpace after 2 1/2 years of being on MySpace in FAVOR OF LostCherry! The networking is WORLDS better than MySpace, people will actually talk to you in an intelligent conversation, and the overall offerings of the LC are MUCH better than what Tom could EVER offer MySpace users.
MySpace on a 1 - 10? In all honesty and fairness? 4 out of 10
The LC on a 1 - 10? 9 out of 10
Nothing's perfect and even the LC has its share of idiots. But we're damn near 160,000 users now if not over already so we ARE gaining popularity! LOOK OUT MYSPACE HERE COMES THE LC!!

Lost Cherry or LC as it is so commonly refered to by its 154,756 and growing members is awesome!!! So much better than myspace. The name which is based on a mixed alcholic drink leaves a little to the imagitation. People can turn anything into a nasty thought so if thats what you're gonna do go ahead and do it, but before you start going around and putting down stuff why don't you go ahead and try to get the facts first. It has the name because they are trying to make it an internet nightclub, not just a friend space. For people to more freely interact with each other. Instead of just leaving a comment or adding people you can easily talk with one or a hundred people at a time. If you find that LC is not for you thats fine. But don't sit there and put it down because you don't like it, 150,00 plus people do.

l agree with nottan00b and LC rocks l just wish it had totally unlimited pic allowance and you were able to actually lock your page not just your albums..that way it could be more private and away from children also some post mixed pics of some dont post any pics so it should state whether the page belongs to a female or a male...all the same its still is a great site and babyjesus is very prompt in dealing with any enquirys (:

I would have to say that the majority of the people complaining about the site are those of the younger audience anyways...I have used myspace for over a year which is where I ran into my fiance after not being able to find him for 13 years we were great friends back in the day and found eachother on there so as or locating old friends MYSPACE wins. BUT if you are an adult and care to talk to adults LC will have to win there. It is for more mature adults true and it has the cherry points twist to it which is entertaining. If you honestly think it will not out occupy myspace you are sadly mistaken...Ok today I blew off working just tired today and I could have probably counted over 5000 new people. One person commented on their 45,000 users and it is now at 186,703 and rapidly growing so to each their own....

Ok I wanted to add another note about Myspace vs. Lost Cherry... You'll not find people like LC on Myspace... cuz the myspace crowd is too worried about their poodles and powder puffs... LC is a family come and see... we are tight knit and friendly people is an awesome site... Always about friends not about being better then someone else... Everything is a booster... everyone is nice... and you feel right at home... Try it... you'll be hooked no jokes... ya think Myspace is addicting?? Ha I say... HA! Try LC you'll not sleep for days for fear of missing a friend request or having a chat with the great Mike he is the bomb keep LC running smooth... that man is AWESOME all he LC peeps keep that Site running smoooth like butta!!! OK the LC I love it....
LC is so much better than so many other places.
here at least we have people to say hey some thing is wrong.
and yes so over work but so much doing there jobs Bravo to ya on LC.

At first yeah I took this site wrong but I tried it out and I love it. Met some realy great friends. But as all sites you will have the not so great. One differance is LC has people that deals with the not so great.
So on that note Again Bravo to ya on the so much overwork underpay and underappriciated. Keep up the good work.
Now If ya not sure of LC you should try it out first don't take our word get your own oppinion.
As for the lay out well you don't like your profile then change it to what you do like. The web lay out I think it is very nice..

Oh yeah and the one stating their married well hello I am married and both me and my husband are on LC and not on for what you think. We have a lot of great friends we talk to on LC.
Plus the name Lost Cherry is a drink.
We use to be a yahoo chatter but got tired of the crap on there and the booters and all. came to LC and we are LC regs now.

Lost Cherry has become a haven and home for about 200,000 friendly and fun-loving folks, at this time. There is a reason LC is growing at a faster pace than Myspace...it is simply better. Whether or not you can find your limited number of friends on Myspace is a moot point. At LostCherry you have the ability to connect with and form new friendships every time you log on. The ability to creatively design your own site to fit your personality and lifestyle is amazingly evident if you visit but a few different profiles. LostCherry is not competition for Myspace, for sure...Myspace can't even come close to competing on LostCherry's playing field!

hey everyone just wanted to say that lc rocks as a member of teh support staff and a member of the bouncer team that keeps lc running smooth and first off we are close to 200000 members come christmas we will be higher then that. we are a friendlier bunch and its our members that help us alot its thanks to them. and we have live tech support 24/7 see myspace back that one up, so to say something that is not true you need to ask the people that go there their opinion first. we are a tight knit community see we do have things to do like give each other gifts leave comments rate pics stuff like that things you dont see on myspace. which makes our site so much more better. we also now have the cherry bank where you can sign up for things to get cherry buxs as we call them. its a great iniative for people to try and earn and the points system well that is what we use to gain levels the higher your points the faster you will level. SUPPORT- is the team that deals with technical issues and other problemes people may have on the site.and help regulate pics as well LC BOUNCERS- people that make sure no terms of service violations occur as well as deal with problems on the site and as well flag pics that are deem adult but the rules and guidelines that are set out. we all work as a team there is no me or i in lc its a family so to speak. so my final thoughts are this to the owners, support, and bouncers you guys are awesome and keep up the great work guys and to the members on lc lets make lc the biggest and best place to be in the world. i love the lc!! i am a member of many other websites but i spend more time on the lc i only go on the others to talk to relatives so i spend about 8 hrs on the comp 30 min checkin mail and the rest on my lc talkin to new and interestin ppl come check it out!

i have both accounts - Myspace is fine for my band and my music, but for social interaction, LC is superior. i'm a little older than the average Myspace user, so it's nice to find a place where people speak in english and not exclusively in l33t. and there's certainly nothing wrong with a bit of 'adult content!' it's nice to have someplace the grown-ups can hang out and spend some time.

Okay~~my perspective is a little different~~ As far as addressing the fact that it is like a porn site~I'm sorry, but I am happily engaged and have children and wouldn't be caught dead on a porn site, but I LOVE the LC~~yes, it is much more adult themed then Myspace, and while it allows you to privately take that adultness to your own levels, I would much rather have that then teenage drama everywhere. LC has live tech support, bouncers, and Baby Jesus, himsel,f is very accesible to every member, which makes it feel like an online community, family even, unlike the coldness on myspace. You don't have to join groups, blogrings, or anything else to be noticed on LC. There is a new member area that allows other LC members to view you and say hello. Within 15 mintues of joining LC I had 24 people say hello. That would never happen at Myspace. It was a little overwhelming actually at first, but its easy to pick up the navigation and start making friends quickly. LC is built for making friends and feel like you are part of an online community....myspace is not. Whether you like it or not...LC is upcoming and here to stay with 200,000 members and still growing!

I think you all need to just get the facts straight before you go bashin something you obviously know very little about.The name,for one is after a drink.Not what some sick minds twist it into what they want it to be.And dont worry,lc is grownig,and will continue to grow.And with it im sure alot of people will turn to haters,bashing something they have never tried.but,fact remains,it there,its growing fast and yes,ask the 198,000 users(and that number grows while you watch it) lostcherry.com is way better then myspace,ask tom,he was there!!!! And please feel free to stop and ask some questions,get your stories straight.Makes for better reading.So in closing,I will just say,I think its sad that someone can run something down and say things they know very little about.(freshmeat)pffft.at least make a level 4.then you might see,what really happens.

I've been a member of LC for less than a month and have met some great people. I am not looking for anything other than online conversational friendships, and most of the pople on LC feel the same way.
There is much being said about LC being a porn site, and tht is ludicrous. There is adult content on the site, but there are warnings on the peoples' pages about it. In addition, the site is closely monitored for offensive materials and the person displaying it is asked to put it out of general view.
Lost Cherry has an more adult feel than MySpace -- by that I mean 'grown up' and 'mature' not 'lewd or 'pornographic'.
Let the kiddies stay on MySpace and play their silly games.. and come over to Lost Cherry and hang out with the grownups!

Seriously...no bashin on LC. I've been on LC for about three months, and I am in love with it. I find myself on there a lot. You meet great people and you do awesome stuff at much higher speeds than myspace.
Also, you can buy virtual gifts for other people using "Cherry bucks." You get them by rating and commenting pics and lots of other things.
It's not a porn site. It has nothing to do with sex. The name is unique. A lot more punchy than MySpace, for sure. It's for the adults to interact, and not for little thirteen year olds to show that they are e-whores, they can keep on doing that on MySpace.
Try it out sometime. You will see why we LOVE it!

i was a member of myspace and im a current member of lost cherry and to tell you all the truth i got more welcomes and hellos in the first hour being in lost cherry then i did in a month at myspace , also the members of lost cherry pride them selves on respect and friendship rather then myspace that prides it self on who is fake and who can bash the next person more. now i dont kow about all of you but i would rather meet people and make friends then get into a fight the moment i log in.

I haven't heard a single bad thing from someone who has actually joined the LC. It took me a bit to get used to it but once i figured out how to change the look and get my page going, it was sweet! The people are much more genuine than on myspace. I have friendster, myspace and tagworld. LC tops them all!

Im sorry..you bashers of lost cherry have no idea what lost cherry is all about. I am on my space and im in lost cherry...and since i have been in lost cherry. I find lost cherry to be a better site for the mere fact that you are able to interact with others better then in myspace. You speak to your friends directly. People care more about you in lost cherry then they do in myspace. I have a large family now in lost cherry where as in myspace...i have a few aquaintantces. And lost cherry is growing more and more every day. Half the time Myspace is always down and you dont get alot of the same interactions that you do in myspace as applosed to lost cherry..does my space have bashes for their users? Does Myspace get comments from the head haunchos letting us know what is going on and that it will be corrected? No..you hear nothing from anyone. But in Lost Cherry...they CARE more for thier users then in myspace. Lost Cherry the name alone sounds dirty...but only if that is where your mind is. Have you ever been to the point in your life that you feel like you are lost...you dont know where your going......To me that is what lost cherry is....You not only FIND yourself but you find others who feel the same as you...Get your mind out of the gutter and get with the program here. I find that if your intellegence level is so low that you have to bash someone without finding out the actual truth...then you are no better then the next person. If you would read alot of these comments from lost cherry users..you will see that you start your own family network. We arent about popularity...we are about LOVE, CARING, UNDERSTANDING, BEING THERE FOR ONE ANOTHER IN A TIME OF OUR LIVES THAT WE CANT SPEAK TO THOSE AROUND US. Lost Cherry is an awesome site! There are no problems on there as much as myspace. I will also tell you this, Drama, I have never seen so much Drama in one place then Myspace. On the LC, everyone gets along. There are so many people on thre and so many people have actually met some awesome friends on there. So much more to do on Lost Cherry. It is addicting, I absolutley love it. Noone cares what you look like, who you re, and what flaws you have. Everyone cares. It is way better and will always remain better then Myspace!!! You will find out!

I admit it...I am a former Myspace addict. I was on there all the time trying to find someone interesting to talk to. Therein lies the problem. That could take HOURS! You have to click on the browse feature, type in your search parameters, scroll through hundreds of pics, find one that looks ok, go to the profile, send a message, wait for a reply....It's a hassle! On LC, all you have to do is sit back and watch the pics scroll acroos the top until you see one you like, click on the pic, and send an instant message to the person. Plain and simple. Reposting bulletins is also a hundred times easier on LC than it is on myspace. As for LC being ugly...what are you people smoking? My page on LC looks exactly like my page on Myspace. Which is totally awesome, btw. I like being able to put 100 pics in my albums as well. It gives me a chance to show off all of my pics and even some random ones that I didn't want to actually put on my profile itself. Which, let's face it, is the only way to show those random pics on myspace if you want to have any actual pics of yourself in your album. I also like being able to give people little gifts on LC. It's a really nice way to show someone that you're thinking about them without having to troll around looking for a pic to leave as a comment. And that small group of community members who try to keep the place "clean" is helped out alot by the community itself. Which I LOVE. If someone decides to try to mess with me on LC, all I have to do is post a bulletin and it's taken care of by my friends and the friends of my friends and so on and so forth. We have each others backs. And the fakes don't last long on LC. The moral of my little novel is that, while I do love my myspace, LC just has more to offer. You can hate the name or the layout all you want, but I promise if you gave it a shot, you'd be hooked too. Go ahead...I dare you.

I started out on Myspace about a year ago. I thought it was the coolest thing next to a summer breeze. I was very active, had lots of blogs and a great following. One thing I wasn't crazy about is that on Myspace it seemed like everyone was locked in a little "room" and waiting for somone to enter. Talking was done through an IM system that hardly ever worked and then we had to rely on a slow inbox system that was riddled with errors.
A few months later, I was introduced to LC. I loved it because it seemed to have more adults, easier ways to contact members for conversations and everyone seemed to be having a great time. People seemed relaxed and just out to do their thing. Some people have the misconception that LC is a "porn" site. It's not, it's a site that respects the person's sense of self expression and preference. Sure, there are TOS's that have to be abided by, it's not a free for all by any means but in direct comparison to Myspace....let's just say this, some of my Myspace friends feel very neglected or have joined LC to hang out with me.

I dont know anything about myspace however i am a lostcherry user. Yes the site has a name w/ a double meaning so do hundreds of other types of businesses. Who cares its a name. We try and police are own site just like any other business. We flag ourselves and others. But you know what else we make great friends. We get to play a game while doing all of this by seeing who can get to the higher levels. We take care of eachother and our selves. At least check the site out before any one makes snap judgements. Yeah theres some bad eggs but show me some place where there isnt

I use both myspace and LC. Honestly in my opinion myspace is slower than LC and cant hold as many pics as Lc can either. I love both. I dont stay on Myspace that often unless I have friends on there and then we message each other. We need something more like lost cherry that we can like get shout boxes. I know I know we have im on myspace now but what is the point really? No one uses it. It is slow. To may people get on Myspace at once and crowd the system. I have even seen Tom write about it in comments. LC rocks!!! You know we all need to start inviting more people to LC and see what happens. Eventually LC will be as popular as myspace.

I joined lost cherry & all I can say is, there are too many creepy people on it. When I first signed up I had to set my comments & everything to friends only as some disgusting individuals were leaving me comments which I deleted. I do not care how many friends are in my list as I do not add "randoms" anyway. I will probably delete my membership there & stick to MySpace. At least I can use a div layout & everyone I know in real life has a myspace.

I have been a member of LC since May 2006 and am also a member of Myspace (but i cant ever remember my login info so that account is kinda stale). I get lost when i am in LC time gets away and we have fun. The direct interaction is whats so great and now with the added blog feature we can do all the things as we could on myspace but without all the myspace crap. LC is awesome. The people are great the setup is great----Come check it out you wont be sorry.... LC is at 275,510 members and growing by leaps and bounds....So give it a shot the worst that will happen is you might make a friend and become cherry addicts like the rest of us

In my opinion i like the lc better than myspace. Myspace has many of problems that occur while sending bullitens or messages to friends. Also u get mail from ppl that dont exist. The lc is a cool place to meet new ppl to talk to i have more friends on the lc than i do on myspace. So i do think that the lc is better over 100% better..

i just joined lostcherry/cherrytap now.. i was on myspace for months. it got boring after while. i have cable at 12.5 mpbs and trust me myspace is so slow i just get off of it... i have met good people on both sites. however there are more um odd ones on myspace.. sorry i still use both but honestly there are so many fake accounts and stalkers on myspace it is just crazy! someone said fake people.. yes there are many on myspace and they will foward your mails and change your words to make it look like you talked trash.
one thing i notice with myspace porn pics stay up until ppl report them and people can comment with porn pics and they stay up or have porn pic's on their profiles and little kids just run all over myspace doing what ever on it they wish to do. with parents pointing fingers and myspace cracking down on people for no reason worried someone will cry. on cherry tap your told to mark the pic adult. myspace just out and out says no porn pic's but um i see them all the time, almost porn if not out right nude and been up for months too.
i like them both, but i like lostcherry/cherrytap better..
for me making the myspace profile codes are easy.. the home page they have is ugly! thou.. i have trouble with the lc/ct skin codes :( but their bacis page is much better looking the ms.. and the home page is too! and guess what i haven't seen the stupid spyware adds all over the place of invested bulletins like there is on myspace so.. i tate the lc higher.. mike knows what he is doing.. tom is asleep at the wheel.

With respect to the branding aspects around the name and its shock value, I’d like to call up the branding phenomenon around the restaurant chain “Hooters.†Who would have thought that you could create a successful restaurant chain based on families eating buffalo wings at a restaurant that connotes female mammary glands? I went into a Hooters restaurant last weekend and I saw kids and grandparents eating hot wings served by busty waitresses in too small tops and shorts.
On a side note, I don't eat at Hooter's either (though I have ample opportunity where I live). Though the main reason is that the food doesn't appeal to me, I'll admit that the name and the image also have a negative influence on me. Most adults are looking for social network were they don't have to deal with young teens talking about what they're going to wear for the Prom or who they have a crush on in High school. Surfing around Lost Cherry it reminds me of Myspace audiences who have grown up and are looking to move forward to another edgier social community where they can find new online friends or keep the same friends to which they can relate, feel more comfortable with and that’s Lost Cherry main intention.
I think Lost Cherry would rather target loyal fans that come to their site on a daily basis then teens who only register and doesn't visit often.
Lost Cherry isn't for everyone, some may find it as you said "tasteless", others enjoy chatting with new interesting people.

It also has the ability to change the background to white by adding different skins, or creating your own. So I don't know what people even see when they say it ugly when the obviously havn't even seen the different ways it can be designed based on how you want to see it.
And I mean to me the name is so much more interesting then Myspace. I mean come on give the site a name instead of just going "we going to make a site so people can make there own spaces on the internet, wait thats it "MYSPACE". How more plain can you get. First the background now the name.
Come on people grow up, anyone ever hear of other people having different tastes, I mean I think if you were to make your own website on one of these places it should be as original as you are. So instead of making it so the layout and background is the same, like myspace, it should be like lostcherry where you can make your own layout or pick your own background by suppling a photo of your family, kids or designing your own photo and making it a background. So much more original then Myspace.
And I mean I would pick cherry blasts things over pop ups anyday. I mean come on having annoying pop ups show up and get in your way everytime you open a page, compared to a cherry blast just being up in the corner not interupting anyone unless you look up at it, and I personally wouldn't mind seeing some person saying hi to their friends or saying I love you to their husbands or wifes over a pop up anyday.
As for the amount of members, I mean Myspace had to have started small too, and the amount of members switching from Myspace to Lostcherry everyday is amazing. I mean I have seen the population go up by thousands every week. Now is that alot, yes, to me it is, to the interenet no, but it sure is a heck of a start.

If any of you guys (or gals, come on giggi, live a little! do you not help people who're ugly too? :)).. actually put up with the color/interface long enough to try it out, and find other things you don't like, please send me the complaints/feedback. :-D

I love all my friends on there and contrary to myspace - its easy to stay in touch with them.. in many different ways - the page is mostly customizable.. dont like the lookofit.. change it.
cool setup. cool sounds. cool people. everything is better there. now i just use myspace as a form of email...... its a dinosaur that has lost its place in a new world.
Im an LC addict... the people there rock - we have fun, we laugh - we flirt... it is alot like a 24hr night club as mike mentions on the homepage... its a more free and open atmosphere... if you would prefer something more controlled and dull and boring.... well theres always myspace...and by the way.. we have 71,000 members as of today the article says 49,000 - i know its easy to get that number wrong though because it grows at an ever increasing rate. Maybe you guys dont know it yet.. but LC is the new myspace.. its the chat forum of the future...

We at lost cherry are passionate about the place... we're passionate about the community and all our lc friends... do people on myspace feel like it is truly 'their space' nah... they feel alone among the gazillion other users... But i actually think that when lost cherry gets big... and it will - it will still maintain that personal feeling - it has to do with the setup... the feel. come to lost cherry.. but just know... that once you get there.... youll never leave =).

I have both. and there is way more user interaction with LC than myspace. Cherry rank unlocks more picture and music storage, which can be cool cuz I like music videos.
I won't say one is better than the other..... it just depends on who you ask, and what the end user is looking for.
I like LC a LOT more because it has real time applications on the site itself as opposed to myspaces' "instant messaging" which relies on a connection from both users.
LC is loads faster, easier to navigate through and tons more entertaining.
That's not to say that myspace doesnt have it's uses.
There is a WORLD of independant music on myspace and I like to communicate with the artists there.
MySpace on a 1 - 10? In all honesty and fairness? 4 out of 10
The LC on a 1 - 10? 9 out of 10
Nothing's perfect and even the LC has its share of idiots. But we're damn near 160,000 users now if not over already so we ARE gaining popularity! LOOK OUT MYSPACE HERE COMES THE LC!!

At first yeah I took this site wrong but I tried it out and I love it. Met some realy great friends. But as all sites you will have the not so great. One differance is LC has people that deals with the not so great.
So on that note Again Bravo to ya on the so much overwork underpay and underappriciated. Keep up the good work.

Oh yeah and the one stating their married well hello I am married and both me and my husband are on LC and not on for what you think. We have a lot of great friends we talk to on LC.
Plus the name Lost Cherry is a drink.

Whether or not you can find your limited number of friends on Myspace is a moot point. At LostCherry you have the ability to connect with and form new friendships every time you log on.
The ability to creatively design your own site to fit your personality and lifestyle is amazingly evident if you visit but a few different profiles.
LostCherry is not competition for Myspace, for sure...Myspace can't even come close to competing on LostCherry's playing field!

As far as addressing the fact that it is like a porn site~I'm sorry, but I am happily engaged and have children and wouldn't be caught dead on a porn site, but I LOVE the LC~~yes, it is much more adult themed then Myspace, and while it allows you to privately take that adultness to your own levels, I would much rather have that then teenage drama everywhere.
LC has live tech support, bouncers, and Baby Jesus, himsel,f is very accesible to every member, which makes it feel like an online community, family even, unlike the coldness on myspace. You don't have to join groups, blogrings, or anything else to be noticed on LC. There is a new member area that allows other LC members to view you and say hello. Within 15 mintues of joining LC I had 24 people say hello. That would never happen at Myspace. It was a little overwhelming actually at first, but its easy to pick up the navigation and start making friends quickly. LC is built for making friends and feel like you are part of an online community....myspace is not.
Whether you like it or not...LC is upcoming and here to stay with 200,000 members and still growing!

MySpace is OVER.....
There is much being said about LC being a porn site, and tht is ludicrous. There is adult content on the site, but there are warnings on the peoples' pages about it. In addition, the site is closely monitored for offensive materials and the person displaying it is asked to put it out of general view.
Lost Cherry has an more adult feel than MySpace -- by that I mean 'grown up' and 'mature' not 'lewd or 'pornographic'.
Let the kiddies stay on MySpace and play their silly games.. and come over to Lost Cherry and hang out with the grownups!
Also, you can buy virtual gifts for other people using "Cherry bucks." You get them by rating and commenting pics and lots of other things.
It's not a porn site. It has nothing to do with sex. The name is unique. A lot more punchy than MySpace, for sure. It's for the adults to interact, and not for little thirteen year olds to show that they are e-whores, they can keep on doing that on MySpace.
Try it out sometime. You will see why we LOVE it!

LostCherry Is Better, Get Over Yourselves!
A few months later, I was introduced to LC. I loved it because it seemed to have more adults, easier ways to contact members for conversations and everyone seemed to be having a great time. People seemed relaxed and just out to do their thing. Some people have the misconception that LC is a "porn" site. It's not, it's a site that respects the person's sense of self expression and preference. Sure, there are TOS's that have to be abided by, it's not a free for all by any means but in direct comparison to Myspace....let's just say this, some of my Myspace friends feel very neglected or have joined LC to hang out with me.
LC just totally rocks!
LC is at 275,510 members and growing by leaps and bounds....So give it a shot the worst that will happen is you might make a friend and become cherry addicts like the rest of us
one thing i notice with myspace porn pics stay up until ppl report them and people can comment with porn pics and they stay up or have porn pic's on their profiles and little kids just run all over myspace doing what ever on it they wish to do. with parents pointing fingers and myspace cracking down on people for no reason worried someone will cry. on cherry tap your told to mark the pic adult. myspace just out and out says no porn pic's but um i see them all the time, almost porn if not out right nude and been up for months too.
i like them both, but i like lostcherry/cherrytap better..
for me making the myspace profile codes are easy.. the home page they have is ugly! thou.. i have trouble with the lc/ct skin codes :( but their bacis page is much better looking the ms.. and the home page is too! and guess what i haven't seen the stupid spyware adds all over the place of invested bulletins like there is on myspace so.. i tate the lc higher.. mike knows what he is doing.. tom is asleep at the wheel.
