That's an interesting concept. Looking forward to seeing how it works out.

This is the biggest span blog hoax, I have ever seen. It has been executed to a T. Users are essentially RSS feeds from different sites. These RSS feeds or users are then given a fake profile and fake friends. The RSS feeds with such names as Veronica, Kim, Tina, are all from New Delhi, India. In fact every user is from India.

The fake RSS profiles are then linked back to instablogs, where the second act takes place. Fake votes (and a few real ones I hope), and an orchestrated front page conclude this impressive illusion that should have been saved for David Copperfield.

Its posts like this that kill the credibility of blogs, I hope mashable doesn’t suffer the same fate, but how can I blame you.

    Sam,

I assume you meant to comment on the instablogs post?
  • Sam Richard · 3 years ago
Yeah your right, i also just posted it on the instablogs comment section.

lol@Sam, I was wondering what David Copperfield had to do with Pete.

I love this new concept as well Pete. This opens up a lot of opportunity for us startups. Also, it decentralizes your work load on Mashable and that is always a good thing; What companies lose in control, they gain in mobility.

Look forward to hearing from me soon :)

    Pete

I like the new concept. Is this going to be a one week thing or do forsee it continuing into the future. I know for netus we are still at pre launch and are not ready for major coverage until later in the development cycle. Keep me posted as to whether you plan to continue this format into the future.

    Dave,

No idea. Thought I'd try it for a while and see what happens. I'm getting a bunch of submissions already, but ultimately it depends whether I can get these posts to fit in with Mashable's current style. We shall see.

    Hi Pete,

I'd like to participate -- I'm in charge of the company behind SeekSift.com -- so let me know if you'd like me to come up with a brief description of it for you, to post on Mashable.

This has been done already, they are called press releases.

An interesting idea. A bit like Dragon's Den for webbies.
