I use eBuddy and Meebo, both the best web messengers out there, but what business model can justify this amount of money for Meebo. I think Meebo’s doing a good job, but at the end of the day they haven’t made a penny.
I geuss a quick build up and then go YouTube style.. take over by Google??
Yeah, they're doing the same thing as YouTube - taking up a great deal of the user's attention, which could then be monetized in various ways. The most obvious way: a portal (like Yahoo) buys it and uses it to push members to other services. But Meebo is more complex because it aggregates competing services, making an acquisition by any of those services tricky.
I'm a daily user of meebo, and I love their service. But they have NO business model other than acquisition.
