@Martin Buberhead: We thought quite carefully about the amount of time that developers would get to develop. Its rumored that the F8 launch partners only got 6 days to bring their apps.

If we had left things for longer than a month then I think we'd begin to loose the patience of the developer community who were ready to get out the door with something.

(Disclosure: I work with MySpace on the developer platform)

    Hi everyone,

Could I ask all the Facebook users here a big favor to fill in my survey about Facebook applications? http://limesurvey.cdtm.de
Won't take longer than 10 mins and helps me gather data for my master thesis!

    Thanks a bunch!

I'm struck by how different this is from the facebook api, since i was expecting it to work in a similar way to fbml, hosting the applications on our own server, however it makes perfect sense.
I was kind of hoping to be able to use PHP, but i've only just begun to look at the platform...

Sorry, I cut off part of the link to the survey accidentally. http://limesurvey.cdtm.de/facebook is correct.

"Rather than the first 'Super Wall' being most popular, MySpace is giving the best enhanced comments system a chance to be #1."

it's probably worth noting that Super Wall was created at the end of june, a month AFTER facebook's platform was open to everyone.

This is sad news. I'm a 35 year old professional who loathes FaceBook for many reasons but particularly because it has become an application spam engine. The latest most annoying ones lure you in by telling you that your peers have voted on your personality, creativity, date ability and on and on. When you click to learn more your prompted to install the app. What's worse is many times you are thrown into a question and answer session pitting your coworkers and other friends against each other as to who is more creative or you'd be more likely to date. Then an email is sent to them letting them know you for instance find them attractive or want to date them. All because you voted to learn more. This stuff is annoying and unnecessary crap. It makes me want to delete my Facebook account and use MySpace only but alas this will be coming to a MySpace page near you soon;-(

They're just copying Facebook :( For some reason, I thought MySpace would try to be more original than that!
