While those of us who build for the web owe a great debt to the porn industry for a good many technical innovations - especially in areas of ecommerce - I'm not sure that this is particularly useful, (yes, tongue is firmly in cheek! LOL).

I guess I shouldn't be surprised at the recent proliferation of adult "tube" sites, but carefully controlled "research", (again with tongue firmly planted), shows that for the most part these sites serve as nothing but aggregation depots for those who would have you pay to watch the nasty. Not that I'm against capitalism, or anything, but the whole promise of "user generated" whoopee is a crock. Apparently sin's #1 industry is becoming desperate.

Conversely, the rating model presents a ton of opportunity in the (yawn) social networking cloud.

"User generated content"? I fail to see how this is going to work with adult content. Do they really expect users to "generate" their own porn?
