    Within my profession (psychology) the use of powerpoint is rampant. I assume the same exists in many other professions. I cant really see how this would threaten the use of powerpoint in my profession. The only possible thing that springs to mind is collaborative work (e.g., putting together a presentation with a peer in another country). Like writely but for presentations.

    Eric Meyer (of CSS fame) put together a system for 'PowerPoint on the web' a while ago. Granted, using his code requires a bit more knowledge on the part of the creator of the presentation, but it also produces more portable XHTML (using Eric's system, you can even create a .zip file that a user could run locally).

    The lack in Thumbstacks is all about collaboration.
    The application is very well done and the idea is very simple and clear.
    The site is simple as the idea behind the service. They just need to improve their links (sign-in above..blehrg..)!!!!

    Adoption might not be that far off --> we are overloaded with text online --> many users have just stopped reading --> where-ever you see text on the web today, this approach could be a more effective way of communicating - that's a lot of potential
