    How sweet.
That is certainly one way to make a proposal the whole world can see.
Make it last Emily and Max.
  • Kate · 1 year ago
One way to tell the world they are going to get married. They don't have to call or email anyone to tell this fantastic news. Congrats to Emily and Max

Any wagers on how long for the first divorce?
  • Datrio · 1 year ago
    @Rummble

Think they'll have a divorce through Twitter, too?

Seriously though, congrats to the both of them, after fifteen years probably nothing will break them apart.
  • Niall · 1 year ago
    Hoax, I'd say.
  • youporn · 1 year ago
    god bless them :)
  • Lanooz · 1 year ago
@Datrio, I would say that this is what can break them apart - marriage.

Wish you guys the best (:

I actually saw this happen again a few months ago between a couple online, it looked pretty legit. Just can't find the posts.

In this age of social networks...that was totally cute! Yall need a DJ for the wedding?
  • sbostedor · 1 year ago
Probably a stunt or a joke but it's cool. Call me a traditionalist but I think that this should always be done in person with a ring in hand, though. Doing it over the Internet takes a lot of the romance out of it.

Where is the Twitter on "I'm dumping you for your brother" or "hey, you knocked me up"??
  • ohhno · 1 year ago
dude, she doesn't look a day over 20. When did they start dating when she was 5? I call BS.
  • Average Jane · 1 year ago
I had a friend reporting via Twitter throughout her labor and the birth of her child earlier this week. It was very interesting!
  • nicolask7 · 1 year ago
not sure if it's real, sounds bs or very geeky... anyway congrats

@sbostedor: Amen! I met my husband online in a chat room in 1995, but I think there are some things that should still be done offline: sex, proposals, and death (not necessarily in that order), although I'm sure my husband would be disappointed if all sex were kept offline.

The web is so romantic! Congratulations.
  • CB · 1 year ago

Actually, the first Twitter proposal (that we know about) happened on March 2, 2008, when @garazi proposed to @stefsull.

We even talked about it during our interview at SxSW, which you can see here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=kurgGobobqQ

Don't know for sure, but Shannon just asked Rachel to marry him on Geek Brief.
  • Shannon · 1 year ago
This is definitely not the first. I was proposed to via twitter in September 2007 and I was told that there was one more before me.

I didn't propose on Twitter, but I did tweet that I was about to ask her and then tweeted her response. :) This was a year ago.

    Is it legit ?

We did to, its where we met, and we still use it today, in addition to other means, to stay in touch, which is helpful since its still a "VERY" long distance relationhsip, but we still make plans, change our lives, plan moves and trips, and deal with families like all more traditional engagements.
