We can thank YouTube for making the Thai government feel comfortable with these blocks, since YouTube agreed to the Thai demands once it was taken down.
I'm web content develooper in BKK, Thailand,
Mashable, is one of my fav web 2.0 sites in my rss reader.
and now i surf ur web smoothly!

a. I am a strong proponent of free speech
b. We all should feel for others feelings too.
c. This makes journalism, walking a thin line
All that I ask is that you kneel before me and you shall rule all of Web 2.0! :)
I absolutely agree :D
Now THAT is a badge of honor!
It is the right of the Thais to have laws that criminalize insults of the revered King. Why can't you guys respect the fact that different countries have different laws and in this instance it is a justified law. In some European countries, it is a crime to glorify Nazism, and yet the Western media gladly accept that fact.
Please respect other cultures, and let them run their countries the way they see fit instead of playing armchair judge and jury!
btw, I'm in Thailand - the site is perfectly accessible to me
Here is an idea for a protest. Allow other websites to republish the offending content (not your whole site, but just the YouTube article). I would put it on my site in a heartbeat. A government may be able to block one site easily, but imagine if legions of your readers re-published your article!
The Thais dont love their King just because of the law, they love their King because of the things he has done and personal sacrifice he has done for his people. You would not know unless you were here. I dont think any country could love their leader as the Thais do their King. Think about it. Its not a matter of free speach, its not a matter of censorship. Its a matter of resepect to each other. The world is not big enough for all this bickering.
Here is the site you get if something is banned (i typed in "www.youtube.com" and got this) http://w3.mict.go.th/ci/blocked.html
Sucks. :/
