For sending tons of photos there's ZoomFoot (www.zoomfoot.com). It's got both a web picture send and a windows client that sends 4BG at once. The client will zip, resize, rename, change file formats and send your pictures in one step.

I like yousendit the most. I use free version of it and never faced any problem with it. file remains uploaded for 7 days and in this time you can share password and download file many times among teams. Apart from yousendit one can try filefactory.com, which is also a good alternative

We have the same problem as you, and we use Skoot (www.skootit.com) - our internet connectivity is pretty unpredictable! If the internet connection goes out, Skoot picks up where the file left off and continues the transfer. Seriously, check it out! Oh, and you can sign up for a free trial

Smartsheet is another service that enables people to send large files...it takes it a step further though in that the files can be stored in the context of the work that you are tracking/managing. Hmm, I've used yousendit in the past and it seems their site has been down for 2 days.
If you are a business and have a need for large file transfer, that is NOT a good thing.
There are business-focused solutions out there like LeapFILE (online) and Accellion (hardware-based) that are more reliable.
