It's the easiest, and the fastest, hands down.

  • Ali · 2 years ago
What's this mailbox you speak of?
  • paul smith · 2 years ago
make sure you dont do that in the UK. Our postal companies have a habit of stealing things.
  • Sylvain · 2 years ago
How come you have not mentionned Pando!!?
  • Rey · 2 years ago
I always use www.senduit.com it's just one page with an upload button.
  • UpstartThis · 2 years ago
    How about

    www.flipdrive.com
    www.xdrive.com

Take any online storage site, they are all allowing file sharing as part of the feature set.

Gotta love box.net widgets though :)
  • Ben · 2 years ago
    Where's Mashable vet Badongo?

Aruna send can send files for free too. No registration needed. Lots of widgets and gadgets you can use too.

I think "send" is the wrong metaphor - with files this big, you really want to build a sharing network where whatever you share is sync'd to everyone and always with them right on their desktop. Any changes made locally are automatically changed everywhere. For that, Tubes is the only solution.
  • Trey · 2 years ago
i know it's not exactly a storage site, but if you make a lycos e-mail you can get upload 3 gigs of stuff for free:

    gmail filesystem?
  • Tim · 2 years ago
Skype is a good option too. Advantages:
    - Free
    - Sends directly to the user
    - Secure
    - Can handle any size of file
    - Fast (if it doesn't route through another skype user - see below)
    - Multiplatform

    Disadvantages:
    - Can be slow (if it routers through another skype user. One user needs a direct net connection or port forwarding set up.)
    - Both end users have to be online at once
    - Can't auto accept files

Other chat applications also allow file sending

my company's internet connection is suck.
FedEx overnight is still the best solution for my situation.
  • Sarah · 5 months ago
We have the same problem as you, and we use Skoot (www.skootit.com) - our internet connectivity is pretty unpredictable! If the internet connection goes out, Skoot picks up where the file left off and continues the transfer. Seriously, check it out! Oh, and you can sign up for a free trial
  • James · 2 years ago
    Hi Adam,

Thanks for featuring our website, MailBigFile.com

We are always keen to get feedback like this.

Also wanted to point out that the 25 download limit is only per file.
You can send as many files as you like in a month, or any other given period.
  • mr_slick · 2 years ago
    --ftp---
    easy, secure, free, truly unlimited
  • Selim · 2 years ago
It would help _immensely_ if the author put a table comparing the features of each service.
A side by side comparison with these types of reviews make it very easy for the reader to get a high level understanding of different features/benefits, very quickly.
  • ILUV2COMPUTE · 2 years ago
http://sendalot.com is pretty cool and easy.
  • Lynne · 2 years ago
Check out http://www.webcargo.net/en/. Can send up to 2 GB. fast and easy. Good UI, confirmations for delivery and a free trial.

  • Renato · 2 years ago
    www.senduit.com is the best!
  • Justin Benson · 2 years ago
    Sorry,

Shameless plug for our own site www.digitalfastball.com. This is if you're a regular sender of large files and want to build out a trusted network and can track packages etc.

  • Stian Strandem · 2 years ago
    Another one is exfile.net.

Supports sending whole folders, resuming transfers, and more. Also has a explorer-like web interface for storing files online and sharing online folders between users.
  • Goran · 2 years ago
ha! Thanks Stian - this is great stuff!
  • Vadim · 2 years ago

Though 1-2GB seems big. I'm suprised, from a marketing agency's perspective, that there are so few options to send files larger than 2gb. When working with raw video, it's very easy to get past these limitations. Just one of the interviews on our home page (below), in a raw format would be much larger than 2gb...

The 8th ways would be www.send6.com . You can send files directly from their website , not registration required.

Two nicce features i love this site:
    - Online storage: keep your files there forever.
    - Send files upto 4GB - where no other website offers this big files.

    Try it.
  • Nobita · 1 year ago
Use Send6.com , they offer file upto 4GB.
  • thezonie · 1 year ago
I am currently developing a web site that allows you to securely send files that are too big to e-mail. There are no file or size limits, no software to download and install, and it is 100% free. It also works on all platforms, including Windows, Mac and Linux.

The site is http://fileai.com/, and we are currently in open beta. If you happen to stop by and give it a try, we'd appreciate any feedback.

    Thanks! :)
  • glaborg · 1 year ago
thezonie: really great site you've released. You've added a great thinking for p2p with just a browser.

We have just released a new version of www.streamfile.com check it out!

here, it's free and you have 5G of space

  • Bryan · 1 year ago
    +1 on divshare.com

    also forgot the 2gb daddies-
    Sharenload.com
    mailbigfiles.com
  • Todd · 1 year ago
I've started using this new one called jumpsend. It's free and not ad-based.
  • Kari N. Ohrman · 1 year ago
In my opinion, for professional use, Fileflow is the best solution! Check it out at www.fileflow.com...
  • Todd · 1 year ago
Hmm, I've used yousendit in the past and it seems their site has been down for 2 days.
If you are a business and have a need for large file transfer, that is NOT a good thing.
There are business-focused solutions out there like LeapFILE (online) and Accellion (hardware-based) that are more reliable.
  • Taylor · 9 months ago
They left http://swapitencryptit.com out of there list !
  • transfer_ro · 9 months ago
    www.transfer.ro - a romanian service since 2008
  • Manish S · 9 months ago
Another one is File Apartment... very clean interface, free, no registration, and up to 1 GB. Very easy to use!
  • woodykas · 9 months ago
You forgot http://www.pipebytes.com - free, no registration, no file size limits
  • matthias.werner · 8 months ago
My tip: www.mydrive.ch // 1GB free online storage // multiple file upload // guest accounts // have fun... :)
  • Rowan Thorpe · 8 months ago
Surprised no-one has mentioned http://www.sendspace.com yet. I use it regularly to store & share very large files and particularly like the feature of creating a linkable folder and posting/removing files from the folder. People even have the option of subscribing to an RSS feed of changes to the folder(s). This is even available to free users.

    - 100% free

Does anyone know where FlipDrive went ? I cannot get a response from them thru normal "contact us" email address. They hit my credit card again for $4 bucks, but they have been offline for the past month or so.
  • v · 8 months ago
Totally ..... hopeless. whose gonna spend 25 bucks for uploading these files.
  • Nico Milis · 8 months ago
Did you know you can easily upload files thru uploadmirrors.com ?

Upload once and it spreads it to the different file hosting sites automatically.
(Rapidshare, Megaupload, Easy Share, ZShare, sendspace, Badongo, Megashare and many more!)

Check it out, keep your files online!

Hi, I just want to recommend www.shootthefile.com, you can send up to 1GB (250MB with the free account) and their support is great!
  • Kirsten McKnight · 8 months ago
Very cool! I run into problems sending large files all the time. Maybe this will help!
  • Mader · 7 months ago
Smartsheet is another service that enables people to send large files...it takes it a step further though in that the files can be stored in the context of the work that you are tracking/managing. Here is a recent blog post on our incorporation of the file send capability https://www.smartsheet.com/blog/mark-mader/bett...

    File Apartment ( http://www.fileapartment.com ) :
    - Up to 1 gb
    - Easy to use
    - Free, safe, and secure
    - No software to download or registration required
  • slym · 5 months ago
I like yousendit the most. I use free version of it and never faced any problem with it. file remains uploaded for 7 days and in this time you can share password and download file many times among teams. Apart from yousendit one can try filefactory.com, which is also a good alternative
  • Manish M. Shah · 5 months ago

For sending tons of photos there's ZoomFoot (www.zoomfoot.com). It's got both a web picture send and a windows client that sends 4BG at once. The client will zip, resize, rename, change file formats and send your pictures in one step.
