I hope everything works out for you guys :-)

Re: Bookmark and Share Potential Employees with StandOutJobs

I am currently in the process of setting up my companies career site. And from my perspective these guys have done lots of things right.

Easy to navigate and setup, great consolidated communication and listing tools.

I will let you know how it goes when we start to receive candidates and need to communicate with them.

For now I find Standout Jobs has done a lot of things right.

Bright boys succeed where critics fail.

Phil

Re: Bookmark and Share Potential Employees with StandOutJobs

Ben,

You stated in our comment above why StandOutjobs will not take off.

"Instead, we're giving companies the tools they need to build their own audiences and talent pools"

Recruites do NOT need more tools, what they do need is someone or something to how them HOW to use ALL the tools currently available; or better yet, someone to work the tools for them. Recruiters and hiring professionals are a unique audience to sell to. One piece of advice; Don't overpromise and underdeliver, which has been the problem that most recruitment technology companies have created for themselves.

Re: Bookmark and Share Potential Employees with StandOutJobs

Hi Brad - Thanks for the feedback. Where Jobster and Standout Jobs differ, is that we're not focused on building a destination site. Instead, we're giving companies the tools they need to build their own audiences and talent pools.

Of course, with the attention we received today, a lot of that was focused on our site, but over time companies will be building up their own traffic. This will be done through things like job marketing/distribution.

As well, we launched with just about 30 customers. So while search is something we may very likely include on the site, it wasn't the highest priority. And for us, the companies are as important if not more important than the jobs. And we hope candidates are willing to do a bit more exploration of companies to find the right cultural and personal fits.

Thanks again.

Re: Bookmark and Share Potential Employees with StandOutJobs

This sounds like a good idea that failed miserably. After reviewing the site, the lack of features, and searching, makes it difficult to see how this site can grow beyond a few small niche employers.

As much as I believe Jobster is also a good idea that was poorly executed, Jobster is far superior to Standout Jobs.
