I wouldn't really call Imageshack 'barebones', it actually has a lot more features than you give it credit for.

Imageshack has Photoblogs, imageshack has galleries, imageshack has toolbars, imageshack has multi-uploading, imageshack has a firefox extension that allows you to upload any number of pictures in any format you want (ie, if you were coding yourself some widghet program that had tags made of {} brackets, you could have the program do that for you).

Imageshack also has slideshows.

Imageshack has Quickshot, which allows you to upload screenshots at any time, while playign a game for instance (and it can do it in the background, so you keep on playing).

My point is that it's a bit unfair to call Imageshack a 'barebones' tool. That would be no different from calling Google barebones because it has a simple interface.

I would avoid ImageShack in favor of Flick or Photobucket, at all cost. I use to host a lot of pictures on ImageShack and one day, they blocked me. I sent them an email asking why and they responded that I was hosting porn. I asked where and they sent me a pic of an girl in a bikini. I responded such and they replied with an apology and that my account would be quickly re-activated. Two weeks later, my account was blocked again. I sent them a snotty email indicating that I'd be using photobucket from then on.
