I never thought the purchase price of $1.30 was that outrageous. There is a land grab taking place on FB and those initial apps that launched and now have millions of users are really valuable. Just look to all the ad networks that have popped up and how much money those businesses are making every day off simple apps like "Where I've been". I wonder if the "insanity" blog post from yesterday gave Trip Advisor cold feet?

This is crazy, who came out with the report. Looks like Facebook got a free boost. Hmmmm......

I wonder why publisher like news.com or you guys did not contact "Where I’ve Been" before posting?

Well, not many suspects here as for who had the idea to spread this rumor...

    In order of probabilities IMHO:

    1) The blog where the "news" were first posted
    2) The "Where I've Been" guys
    3) Facebook
    4) TripAdvisor

Chances are that 3 and 4 are the wrong answers, but still, the news don't harm them either.

Ok was this just a brilliant marketing ploy for Where I've been to rack up more users? How did news like this get out and with purchase price to boot?

Things like this can make make less trustworthy blog readers.
