Hi Palin,

A good time tracking application is Fanurio http://www.fanuriotimetrack... . Fanurio has a few reminders to help you start, resume or stop the timer. It also has idle time detection and it can be used on Windows, Mac and Linux.

I just let it run, then I can see chunks of effort as they relate to the various applications i use, and then record my time/efforts based on that.

It's OSX only, but still very much worth a mention.

Slife Teams http://www.slifeteams.com/ is a group version of Slife that I've used in my office to keep track of what everyone's up to, it's great stuff.

That's what I use.
It just tracks the apps you are active in. Nobody wants to waste more time using complicated time management tools. But it is helpful to take a glimpse of how much you work in excel, word or safari and where you surf around most...
