I love it. This site will take off now.

bye the way this is what Jakob had to say on the site
"Every other video site seems optimized for traffic. We don't give a shit about traffic. Our goal is to make a good product -- a website that respects videos, creators, and viewers. Lately we've been saying, "Because everyone shouldn't watch everything." ... it's a negative sentence, but in a world where you're constantly having crap shoved in your face, some relief is welcome. "

The site looks cool. By the way, this is a better way of reporting, more relevant screenshots instead of lengthy, wordy articles. A picture says so much more than words.

Yeah, and it seems to be getting and better now.

Bah I reviewed Vimeo a long time ago. I means it is a pretty good website from a user perspective, it just doesn't have community features that sites such as YouTube have.
  • chriskalani · 2 years ago
It has more of a tight knit community feel than any site I have been apart of. Until you join and start participating in things you have no way of knowing that.

When I looked at YouTube's "Community" section, it was mostly commercial contests (Make a video for Eve's "Shake Ya Booty!" contest!), so I can only assume you are a troll.

you KNOW I love it. I sent an email to you guys in case you didn't know about it. I am really excited for some of the new features that are still coming out and excited for where we (the users) take the site with the added interactivity.

Well, i must defend Vimeo, the video quality is the very best.. it looks like if you were watching a actual wmv or mov file with the same quality you got at your desktop.

I has some very strange thinking into the community features, since they depend on users surfing the videos by jumping from user to user as a way to make them engage in a more personal way, but it is cool that way, it is really the alternative Video site all the way, and that is something that should be respected for what it is.

I'm new to Vimeo and so most of the changes I can't tell. Though I will say I really liked their green slide bar for the video :) But Vimeo seems to be very friendly and I like the over all feel. I'll be contributing there for sure.

I really like Vimeo. When I searched for a place to upload my vacation videos, it was the clear winner. YouTube gives you next to no control and a pretty ugly interface. Who wants that? Besides, I don't need thousands of people stumbling on my video. That's not the point. The point is to have a personal video site.
