She is going through a hard time. She is suffering with the Hepatitis C; she has to get the treatment for which she needs to get the doses of injections which are very expensive. They don’t have money for the treatment but if she wouldn’t get treatment, it can result in cancer. The course is costing minimum of 300,000 rupees. One dollar is equivalent to 60 rupees, so 3 million rupees would be 5,000 dollars. They are trying their best to save money for his mother but it is hard to have that much money in Pakistan. Dear friends, we all have mother so we all can understand and hopefully can feel his pain very well. So to participate in this good deed and to save a mother’s life if 500 of us would at least take out $10.00, out of whatever we have earned then we can be able save someone’s mother’s life. We spend so much money on so many unnecessary stuff but if we can take out only $10 to participate in this good deed, God’s blessing would be on us. If u can help u then write a check and e.mail me and I will give you the mailing address and other necessary information. I don’t want to give my name out and I am not giving my friend’s name because I didn’t tell him about this; I don’t want him o feel bad. My God knows that I have never lied before and will never lie about someone’s health. However, that’s true that I don’t have any proof to give that I am saying truth, but I remember the last day of world and I know that God is watching me so I can’t even think of lying. Please everyone try to help us, there are many different religions but every religion tells you to help other so please please help us, that son and that mother. If u trust me and decide to help us. Then please e.mail me and I will provide you more information.

E-mail Address: helping_hand_786@hotmail.com

Thank You for your time

Re: ChipIn – Group Fundraising

Fundable charges *7%* of collected funds - this is insanity. There is no reason why someone couldn't offer the same service and profit only from the interest collected while escrowing the funds. Granted it would have to gather a lot of momentum before they were making real money, but I would never use a service this expensive. I thought it was a neat idea until I saw their fee. Ridiculous!

Re: ChipIn – Group Fundraising

Great post Pete. It's sadly a very protected business (except for the fact that demand for startup capital is waning - 'nother issue)

There seems to be only 2 potential solutions to that problem - 1) is take the concept offshore (a great idea IMO) and 2) is to list a VC fund onshore - I'd love to see either of those happen though (2) probably wouldn't allow me the control I would look for in how they spread my cash across their protfolio.

d
