I personally don't need any more money than I have, and I certainly wouldn't want such a negative reputation following me around for the rest of my life. Just because you're an amoral prick doesn't mean the rest of us are.

Re: eBaum’s World Sells for $17.5 Million

Eric Bauman IS a genius. And a thief. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Yes, he is a TOTAL thief. And thieves tend to try to make money. I can't particularly blame him.

If someone leaves a solid gold statue in a dumpster with a note that says "John Doe made this." Would you NOT take it? If you say you wouldn't take it, you are full of S**T. It's in a dumpster, technically its illegal to take, but no one is going to enforce it.

That's what Eric does. And yes, the internet is a dumpster. By uploading things to the internet without protecting them, you give up your ability to control where it goes, and while you retain ownership in legal terms, in all practical terms it now belongs to the internet.

Don't get me wrong, I hate Eric Bauman. He's a dirty thief, and will eventually get what is coming to him. But I also respect the fact that he is incredibly talented, and very smart. The ability to sift through the internet effectively, and find what people will like is a huge talent.

As for the question of intelligence, do you really think that a stupid person could survive for so long doing the things he does? The answer is no. And he knows that the end of Ebaumsworld is probably coming with the pending class action suit, so he is cashing in his chips now.

What he has done is moderately immoral, but by no means a horrendous thing. He deserves to be hated some, but not to the degree that people actually do hate him. That extra hate comes from jealousy.

Admit it, anyone who hates Ebaumsworld loves the internet enough to wish that they could make a living by browsing the internet all day.` Eric Bauman has accomplished this, albeit by being something of a scoundrel.

We all wish we could make a living by being useless skanks. Paris Hilton has managed to pull it off, we hate her. See the similarities?

(For the record, I think Paris Hilton should be killed, as well as her parents for the crime of spawning her)

Re: eBaum’s World Sells for $17.5 Million

Don't congratulate this guy, his site is the biggest scam on the planet. Everything on it is stolen from someone else and this guy's making money off it. And it's not like youtube where something stolen could be uploaded to and then removed if the person requests it, the ebaumsworld admins blatently IGNORE all requests to remove stolen content.

Re: eBaum’s World Sells for $17.5 Million

Of course, that no dick coward sold his site to get tons of money out of it and no longer get blamed. He steals content from other users, for free. First I will comment on that stupid post from anonymous. His claims are nothing but detrimental and malicious lies about what the ebaumsworld community does. A simple probe from the FBI will clear their silly fabrication up.

Second of, while there are some sparce flash animation from authors that never greenlighted thier work be shown on the site, it is still usersubmitted. No one seems to understand that someone downloaded the flash off of a website and submitted it as their own to EBW.

And third, stolen videos? You have got to be kidding me. Stolen videos that are almost on every video site out there? Please! And not to mention that the watermark is reads "hosted on" on images.
