That.was.bad. Looks like something the guys from 'Family Guy' or 'South Park' would make to bust on the cheesy ads or anti-drug commercials from the '80's. Too Lame. Hopefully they didn't pay much for it and I hope the actors don't put that commerical in their resume.

Even if it was there intent to make such a viral video ad, it is still horribly off the mark and seriously uncool and misleading. I feel bad for their children, really bad.

What (might) be interesting about his video is that it appears to be directed against those who would make copies for profit. Does this mean that the record companies feel that those who copy for their own convenience (perhaps about 99% of all those who use the Darknet) are beyond persuasion?

I think it's the best anti-copy ad that I've seen but it shows who runs these big companies - people who fail to understand the value of sharing or the importance of usability. I have before not bought music simply because of frustration with the registration process, why fill out a huge form and give all my payment details when I may only use the service to buy one song which I then have to import into iTunes or Media Player?

This is clear evidence that the industry is outdated and out of touch - their feeble attempts at connecting with a young audience (and failing miserably) are clear evidence that they have absolutely no clue how people want to purchase music or software. They continue to resist digital downloads - and this they do to their detriment instead of embracing it and capitalising upon it.

In stark contrast, Apple have nailed it with their innovations within the digital download industry and know exactly what people want. The sooner that record companies and movie makers stop making it difficult for people to purchase media online and stop viewing digital downloads as a threat to their industry instead of a glorious opportunity that is to be embraced, the sooner they'll avoid extinction of their kind at their own hands.

Sadly, I suspect that the record and film industry will become the dodos of our generation - only to be survived by a much fitter, evolving industry that is Apple iTunes and the like. (Although that's probably not such a bad thing)

Who could possibly take this seriously? It's unbelievably bad ... almost as though it's purposely ridiculously awful.

Seems to be an excellent indicator on how well they're doing with this 'war on piracy'. Open source ftw.

Anyway, the SIIA tries to convince us that the copiers do it for the money, but almost everyone shares freely.
