It sounds pretty simple to me... it's just about as complex as you would like it to be... that's the nice part.

Twitter ?... call me crazy... maybe slow... but this is still something I don't get... the concept is simple enough... but ... hasn't this always been here ?

No you're not ... it's interesting, true, but a wait and see is necessary to find out if it actually helps solve problems, rather than create a whole bunch of new ones. That's the real test, not the buzz words that catch the media fancy.

Interactive communication may be an issue for accessibility but can be resolved if properly formatted real-time text files are made part of this communication tool.

Also, Drag and Drop Feature is not the norm but an additional feature.

You're so excited you're gonna pee yourself. This is all been done before. the only interesting and may be new feature is email playback, but if you're so stupid that you can't scroll an email to see how it progressed perhaps you need to be on Google Wave.

Mary, there is no substitute for certain skills. If an awesome collaboration tool was enough to offset ones bad communication skills then wouldn't email, chat & especially collaborative WIKIs have already done the trick? (and even if they did, you can't hide behind software forever... believe me, I've tried...)

As far as I can tell, Wave is but an advanced collaborative Wiki... Very similar, albeit more feature-rich AND FAR BETTER FUNDED ;-) than some of the Wiki Startups I've seen... Cool, helpful, fits certain niches, but revolutionary?

Email, Chat, collaborative forums & increasingly Wikis ARE/WERE revolutionary. They created new modes of communication & doing things. From what I've seen so far Wave seems an interesting evolution but not quite sure about all the hype...

Email & chat aren't new and they've become everyday staples. I'm just not sure how quick people will rush to adopt this (and I'm not talking about us techs, geeks, dweebs... I'm talking about those other folks...)

google wave is like a browser setup according to your internet use. you just log on to google wave, and then all internet media u use are simplified and organized in wave. its an internet browser inside.
on the other side, other companies can create their own same as wave but it can not actually compare to the Google brand.
this can soon be a single tool to make money. everybody will use the wave.

For all the buzz there are not that many blogs devoted completely to Wave. Mashable does not have a separate section for Wave.

Although I'm still getting my head around Wave, I like the idea that it is an open technology that others can add value to with their own innovations. Providers of proprietary collaboration software will rightfully be worried. Wave seems to facilitate additional layers of context that we do not currently see in traditional services. That surely must be a good thing.

What I keep wondering is how does Google benefit from this? How does developing and launching Wave help Google's bottom line?
It's not a vehicle for ad display for example.
Is it all about blocking the ascendancy of FB and Twitter as default ways people interact via internet?

The greatest benefit of Facebook is that it has many groups on the site that you can join. So if you are interested in Chicago Cubs you can research Chicago Cubs in the groups section and you will be able to find friends on there that like the Cubs. This is just one example, I know that you can join groups of your favorite football team, television show, or whatever you want for the most part! If you can't find a group for your interest, you can simply create one!

Now if google can just make it look not so ugly and old it will be awesome. Why hasn't the biggest online company yet adopted web 2.0 into their designs? Google looks so old, i think its time for a re-design guys!!!
