Yeah, I guess it just kinda makes sense to everyone for them to do that. Pretty silly they haven't. I'm not sure how exactly running "apps" on the xbox works but if they can have an in game friends list then I'm fairly sure they can do the same with Twitter.

I think that its a nice gesture to add features that we already have on our laptops, netbooks and cellphones. All of which are probably within arms reach as we play on the console. I don't think that it makes up for them neutering the media center capabilities in order to sell their own content. If I decide to get my current RROD box repaired I probably won't have a huge need for twitter on it.

Not that it will affect me, but this age restriction thing is pretty useless. Kids are already subject to the most vulgar of language through online gaming conversations. Also, if you were that worried about the content that your "under 18" child is exposed to, I think a Wii would have been a better purchase...

LOL, that's Microsoft for you. Although I agree somewhat with parental supervision (age specific) - I think when MS finally comes out with a solution, they'll likely charge for an upgrade of some kind. A special premium, premium fee.

I don't know of very many people that would want to tweet via their XBOX. My own nephews are glued to it for gaming, MUG (Multi User Game ... something). I've also seen it used for video content delivery. Still it sucks like ShaneRounce just posted.

I'd be happy if people under the age of 18 couldn't get on them. Any added traffic flow from kids tweeting about Miley and other ridiculous things greatly tarnish it's ability to achieve greatness (twitter). Plus who really cares if you take a picture of your family dog 30 times and hash tag it to a trending topic, I sure don't want to see it.

This isn't a problem for me, being 20. Though it still kind of sucks.
They should lower it to at least 16 for now. College students in the UK use Facebook and Twitter a lot and this is definitely going to stifle their opinion of this service via the xbox.

The main issue for me is that this can't be launched during gameplay. I don't want to have to leave games just to see what's going on in twitter. I'd much prefer to be able to simply press the Dashboard button and have a quick-access twitter interface on one of the slides there.
